Extras: The only real extras were the photogallery, pop shot recap, and some trailers, some spam and “positions menu” material included for those that care (a “special offer” link included too). I hated the forced commercials though, skipping them with my remote as needed.

Audio/Video Quality: Brand New Faces #42 was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment. The visuals and audio were both decent, the amount of lighting and limited camera movement helping capture the ladies at their best. The editing did not seem intrusive most of the time and I could hear the vocals just fine, some whispered dirty talk helping a few scenes to stand out from the pack. In all, the technical qualities of the production were largely the same as ever which is a good thing in most ways, the bulk of footage shot competently.

Body of Review: B. Skow had been the lead director at Vivid Entertainment until seeking greener pastures recently. His approach to porn has been appreciated and I hope to check out some of his post-Vivid work soon. The latest release of his under the Vivid banner is called Brand New Faces #42, this time using a few young ladies that actually went on to shoot more scenes (my favorite type of performer in the series since I get to see how much they progress). Of special interest to me here was the inclusion of Bailey Blue and Liv Aguilera, but also cover gal Zoey Foxx, Heather Lee and Holly Green also worth tossing off to a number of times for those keeping count. The premise of the series is simple in that Skow shot a lot of women in their first recorded sex scenes for the company website, the DVD series compiling the lengthy trysts where the starting interview allows fans to get to know the ladies, they then masturbate and have sex (usually with a man); the series even including a guarantee of your money back. Here’s a very brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Bailey Blue, a brunette fuck bunny featured on the lower left hand corner of the back cover, was up first when she wanted to leave her career at the deli counter of a grocery store to make some good money. She followed the general formula which consisted of her interview, signing the contract, stripped, masturbated, and then engaged Jerry in some sexual misconduct. Scene Two: Heather Lee, a blond with a girl next door look to her, was up next on the white couch in her tight jeans and patterned top. She was 19 at the time and only made one credited scene other than this according to the IAFD, the gal coming across as uptight to the director. He worked her a bit to push her buttons, altering his approach to put her to ease (she was not as good as she claimed) though she was clearly having issues with being there. She stuck with the formula and ended up with Tommy Pistol, the guy enjoying her shaven slit and fleshy ass as much as I would have. Despite her hang-ups about tossing salad, she did seem to appreciate him fingering her own perfect pucker, his hand to gland combat exciting her more than a little bit before she blew him in return. Summary: Brand New Faces #42 by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment earned a rating of Recommended given the strength of performance by most of the ladies, especially Bailey Blue and Liv Aguilera. In terms of physical attractiveness, this selection of ladies was among the best I have seen in the series in a long time, all of them looking sexy as fuck even if a few of them still had plenty of rough edges to polish up. Still, that might add to the fun given the newcomer angle so prevalent in the series, few people expecting performers to jump right in at full speed. In short, Brand New Faces #42 was not a new high level for the series but the ladies gave up some fun filled performances worth checking out, the merits of the series premise having long been established so check it out. Bailey Blue has gone on to shoot scores of popular scenes since this one, Liv Aguilera doing pretty solid too and Zoey Foxx clocking in with a few dozen that I’m aware of so you can finally see where the three of them started, Heather Lee and Holly Green falling off the map but leaving a strokable footprint here all the same.
