A well-produced curiosity piece from the 1990s, "Amadeus Mozart" ponders some questions of revisionist musical history. What if the rivalry between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri originated, not in their differing musical concepts and levels of success, but from the fact that they were hot for the same babes at court? And what if Mozart had been a smoking hot stud?

Well, it's safe to say that Goldenmuse is all in favor of this revisionist musical history thing. And while I wouldn't go so far as to label this film 'chick porn,' I would encourage the ladies to check it out for a good giggle and some prime eye candy.

"Amadeus Mozart" stars Backey Jackic, one of the most classically gorgeous porn actors ever to grace the screen. Flawless in face and form, he is an ideal choice to play Mozart, a romantic figure in cultural history.

Furthermore, he, his rival Salieri, and a strikingly attractive court guard played by Sean Michaels, spend the gist of the film competing for and pleasing the queen and countesses and court -- and in some regal settings that include palace drawing rooms and royal courtyards, upholstered piano benches, and luxurious bathtubs. We get to see Backey Jackic dressed in period costume (DROOL). And the whole bawdy romp is shot beautifully on film.

Notice, however, that I classify "Amadeus Mozart" as 'bawdy' as opposed to 'romantic.' Unlike most quality chick porn, this film features no central love story or lengthy seduction scenes. Literally every woman who overhears Mozart's piano compositions automatically drops trou; and, although the man is admittedly an extreme hottie who could make me drop trou with a harmonica rendition of "Roll Out the Barrel," I would have preferred to see more kissing (though there were a few nice, deep smooches), cuddling and romantic expressions in such idyllic settings. The wall-to-wall sex became a bit tedious at times, even for Goldenmuse.

Also, I noticed here the same double standard present in so much of mainstream adult, and it concerns the issue of self-pleasuring. We get so many detailed, explicit shots of women reacting (ahem!) very favorably to Mozart's music; but when Salieri has an erotic dream in which he and Amadeus seduce the queen (that's one lucky monarch, by the way), we see only his passionstruck facial expression.

Even so, "Amadeus Mozart" still qualifies as a good time for the ladies, and a fun take on a romantic legend.
