Audio/Video Quality: This Ain’t Lady Gaga XXX was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with an aspect ratio of about 1.78:1 as shot by director Axel Braun for release by Hustler Video using the MPEG-2 codec. The sexual portions were largely handled in a straightforward manner with reasonable lighting that limited the grain, video noise, and limited the compression artifacts, Axel credited with handling the camera this time. The composition of the camera angles was decent even though there only appeared to be a single camera deployed this time; Axel did seem to provide a modestly competent display of the ladies here. The editing was better on the parody elements than the sexual trysts but there appeared to be an attempt to cash in quickly this time, some portions working better than others (much better). The bitrate itself was often in the mid 6.5 Mbps area this time, helping make the production decent looking if not fully realizing the entire disc as well as could be expected. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English using the 192 Kbps bitrate expected of the movie. There was no separation of the vocals, limited dynamic range, and it generally sounded like the audio was recorded from the microphone attached to the camera. On a positive note, though no one had the balls to credit anyone associated with the parody music or audio, it was one of the better such efforts by the director and/or Hustler (probably Drew and Roger coming up with the pornified lyrics and score). While not as close a parody as many of the scores of such works found on You Tube, the pieces were done well for a low budget porno and I just wish to encourage others to try and do as well.
Helly Mae Hellfire
Body of Review: Axel Braun is best known as a pornographic director of parodies for Hustler Video (and others). While it took him a long time to catch up to some of his peers, even his harshest of critics should admit that when he “gets one right” he does a good job. That said, his latest release is called This Ain’t Lady Gaga XXX, a tribute of sorts to the pop diva. While I prefer Gaga’s first albums in terms of catchy hooks and weird dancing, this movie spends as much of its short running time (under 80 minutes) with some cute musical takeoffs of the singer including one of her latest titles, as any of the company parodies of late. Sexually, there were only four scenes (one a failed BJ-only, another a modest lesbian encounter, and a third where half the male participants were unable to keep up). I’ve seen some Lady Gaga parodies though and Helly Mae Hellfire (who enjoys sex in each of the scenes) was as close a lookalike as could be except for the implants, the trashy style mirroring the singer pretty closely too. There were a few digs at her as well, the most recognized being the Madonna connection, but in all it was okay. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:
Helly Mae Hellfire (with Hustler toys)
Scene One: Helly Mae Hellfire, the gal featured on the front cover, was up first as she worked on her latest music video, Rihanna “Beyonce” Rimes being the object of her desire. Rihanna was no slouch in terms of looking like her mainstream counterpart, the makeup job throughout the flick helping all the characters more than a little. The rough lesbian tryst took place in a jail cell, the thought of gay for pay action entering my mind more than a few times as they kissed mechanically and felt each other up. The oral and toy use continued the dynamic and while the lighting was flat and even, the cramped quarters did negatively impact the finished product due to lack of context.
Helly Mae Hellfire and Aubrey Addams
Scene Two: Helly Mae Hellfire, now dressed up in business attire for an interview with Scott “Larry King” Lyons, sucked him off at his desk top start round two. I have to admit that this was another solid makeup job to make Scott look as old as it did (and while he was not able to emulate Larry very well verbally or via gestures, his look was surprisingly good as a weathered old dude). It took him awhile to get erect with Helly slobbing his knob, her active vaginal riding wasted on the man until the short tryst was over with a facial of genetic juice and some post coital head.
Scene Three: Helly Mae Hellfire, next up masturbating in a bathroom stall while wearing some pink lingerie and accessories, was interrupted by the infamous Ron Jeremy in time for him to go down on her. She sucked him off but for some reason, he was not able to stay particularly hard, even the pop shot of spunk looked questionable. This was a wasted scene for the most part, even more than the limits of the opening scene.
Scene Four: Helly Mae Hellfire, Aubrey Addams, Marco Banderas, and Marco Rivera, were up last as the men portrayed security guards serving as meat puppets for the Lady Gaga/Madonna need of the moment. The cameos by Raylene as Sarah Palin (not up to the standards of Lisa Ann but it had potential) and Tee Reel (as Kayne West) were cute but not given as much polish as other aspects of the fuck flick, the ladies going after cock orally in decidedly pleasing fashion. On the negative side was Aubrey as Madonna (way too young and not very convincing) but she helped make up for it with her active performance (she is always a treasure sexually). There was some minor lesbian action here but the primary mode of play for the gay-centric characters was male on female action, Banderas handily better at the job than Rivera. There is a reason why he is called “multi-pop Marco” and even the ladies appeared to favor Banderas over Rivera as they moved around to engage him sexually. The standard oral and vaginal sex ensued, no bisexual action by the guys getting in the way as one might expect of a Lady Gaga fuck flick), Aubrey dominating the impaling vaginal penetration sequences but both gals receiving the ending wads of population pudding on their mugs before sharing.
Summary: This Ain’t Lady Gaga XXX by director Axel Braun for Hustler Video largely failed sexually to stand out as being half as appealing as what one might imagine the mainstream characters would do to get off, even as a porn dropping the ball time and again in favor of the parody elements. In that sense though, the music and sly nods to reported events were decent enough to elevate this short flick as a wink to Gaga more than any of the others, earning a rating of Rent It for fans of the cast and pop diva herself. In short, This Ain’t Lady Gaga XXX worked better in the non-sexual portions of the show than most Hustler titles have in recent years, the quickie nature of the production likely causing issues with getting things just right. Still, it is worth a few laughs so check it out.
