Extra's: The best extra here was a 4.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Poppa Nut. It was too short to elevate the value of the DVD but it had some interesting moments worth watching. There was also a series of five short interviews with the gals each getting a couple of minutes (more or less) to introduce themselves. This was followed up by a pop shot compilation from the scenes, a photogallery, some trailers, some spam, and a double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Straight A's was presented in the 1.85:1 ratio non-anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director Axel Braun for distribution by Mayhem. The fleshtones were accurate but the lighting was weak enough to cause all sorts of problems with grain and shadows. The composition of the shots was mixed too since there were numerous times when the blemishes of the cast were zoomed in on (better productions don't do that or at least edit those moments out if they even use blemished gals at all). The picture did look faded out in some cases too but that wasn't always the case so don't worry about it too much. I saw no compression artifacts in the picture. The 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English audio was as basic as could be with no separation between the channels and limited dynamic range on top of as hollow sounding cast.

Body of Review: Director Axel Braun has made a lot of pornography in recent years and some of it was actually good. Lately though, he's been in a slump of sorts that had him offering up weaker sex, poor technical values, and little worth checking out except for slavering fanboys of the cast members he used. Such was the case with Straight A's, a movie where the gals did some oral before the men pounded their asses, skipping the pussy altogether. While this may sound like a dream come true for most of you, the general problem was that the gals seemed subdued and unwilling to give their best performances for some reason. That said, here's a glimpse into the scenes, breaking them down by cast and action for those of you who care to venture further:

Scene One: Haley Scott, playing a bored gal that didn't mind partner Mark Davis playing pool while she waited to be screwed in her ass. There was a little bit of foreplay before she blew him and then the couple went "straight to the A". I liked her oral skills better than anything and her ability to handle anal sex was painful to watch as she looked to be in pain much of the time. He did all the work and she grunted a lot so if that's you idea of a fun time, so be it. It ended when she passively sat back and let him jerk off to her mouth.

Scene Two: Sophia, the curvy cutie on the front DVD cover, was up next in a bedroom wearing some black lingerie. I liked her tease footage more than anything as it sparked a fire inside of me but the pairing with lame Tony T. really dragged for me. He's one of those jerky types that needs to dominate to compensate for a small penis and such was the case here. Her oral wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination but she seemed uncomfortable when he kept grabbing the back of her head to force some deep throating. He then pounded away on her tight ass but did all of the work so this scene wasn't all that special either in my opinion. This was another boring facial but he offered up so little spew that I almost wondered if he came at all.

Scene Three: Gia Jordan, a sultry vixen with great legs and an attractive face, was up next in a scene on the couch with German Chris Charming. He sometimes comes across as kind of creepy but has a lengthy shaft so I guess the compromise is acceptable to most fans. There wasn't much tease here as she went over and inhaled his meat pipe like a champion. She also slobbed his knob and used both hands to get him really worked up. This worked for him too by the looks of it and he was soon ready to bone her behind. She offered up her "dirty gaping ass" for him and initially was as boring a back door screw as the others but she did seem more into it as the scene progressed. It wasn't her best work by any means but it was the first ray of light in a movie devoid of meaningful anal sex to this point. It ended when he jerked off to her gape although she didn't look comfortable holding it open.

Scene Four: Rachel Luv, another brunette that reminded me of a house stripper in a local club (generically speaking that is), was up next with Van Damage. She teased in the form of masturbating on a hotel room bed and he eventually walked over to give her something better to play with; his penis. She sucked him off with a practiced ease and he prepared her ass with his fingers. The action followed the formula but the good news is that she also seemed to work his shaft in and out of her ass once she was suitably turned on. It wasn't a great scene by any means but it offered up something better than a completely boring bone session. It ended when he held her back and dropped a load on her gape too.

Scene Five: Tyla Wynn, a freaky kind of gal, was up last with Chris Charming and goofus Tony T. in a living room. Tony started the scene by storming over as she introduced herself to the camera and grabbing her like a piece of meat. The oral was energetic and she had that nasty quality so many fans seem to like but Tony kept ruining the tempo of the scene as he interjected from time to time. The sex was more extreme this time with Tyla taking both of them in her ass at once (DAP) but she wasn't nearly as energetic during this kind of thing and for all her yelling at them to give her more, it came off as desperate too often for me. There was some ATM, slapping, and dirty talk but it ended with both guys rubbing out loads to her face.

Summary: Straight A's failed the test for me in that the okay cast seemed distant and not in the mood most of the time. Even the better performances were hampered by factors that weren't readily obvious in most cases and the technical values combined with limited extras sure didn't add a lot of value. Even the running time of the DVD ran shorter than the advertised "2 hours twenty minutes of straight up the ass mayhem" so the level of fuck for the buck was decidedly weaker than I prefer to see. I'm going to rate this one as a Skip It although it came close to a rental at times. There's just too much good porn on the market to drop this kind of cash on weaker porn.
