Extra's: The best extra was easily the 23.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that starred most of the cast and crew. Initially, it was centered on a party at Dez's place but eventually the footage was with the gals in various stages of undress. It was fun and largely unexpected considering the majority of BTS features following something of a script so I enjoyed it. There was also a slide show, some trailers, and spam but only the BTS feature added any real value.

Audio/Video Quality: Dez's Dirty Weekend 4 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Dez for Excessive Entertainment (and distribution by VCA Pictures). The lighting was more like natural light than the flat lighting that looks best on attractive women but this caused some grain and minor video noise. It wasn't bad lighting, just not the usual porn style so be prepared for it if you like to see every shadow excised from your scenes. The composition of the shots seemed somewhere midway between the objective porno made by seasoned professionals and amateur porn (a pleasant change for the most part); typically enhancing the look of the gals. There were no compression artifacts and I thought with a little more polishing up, the series would look even better. The stereo English audio track was as basic as they come but I could hear the gals moan and talk dirty even if the separation between the channels was nonexistent (and the dynamic range weak).

Body of Review: In its heyday, VCA was a powerhouse of porn, offering some of the best features on the market. Over time, they reverted to a cost effective model of shooting movies, routinely running off their directors by scrimping on budgets as much as anything else. In recent months, there has been a renaissance of sorts with the company distributing works by other companies and even commissioning some very well made releases (I've only been given a couple though so your mileage will vary) in between the compilations and generic pap most companies offer these days. One title I came across that surprised me (favorably that is) was Dez's Dirty Weekend 4, a movie of unrelated vignettes that had Dez and his pals enjoying the action with a host of attractive gals. While not up to the standards of most Jim Holliday releases, the movie showed some real fun between the performers and that made it pleasurable to watch. Here's a brief look at the DVD, noting that condoms weren't used and that the cast seemed to know what they were doing:

Scene One: Monica Mayhem, the well known Aussie porn star, was sporting the same dark hair she had on the lower right hand side of the front DVD cover as she chatted with Kid Cock by the outdoor swimming pool. They went inside and tore into one another, him going down on her first and her slobbing his knob after that. She did a decent job of it but seemed somewhat mechanical in her application of hand to gland action. She did better when taking him inside her "tight, wet pussy" (her words, not mine) and rode him until Sophia joined the duo. Sophia went down on her while Kid porked her doggy style but the scene didn't last much longer after that. Monica took the fairly good sized facial (much of it going into her red locks of hair) and that was it. In general, it was an okay scene but not the best work by the two gals.

Scene Two: Austin Kincaid, a lean brunette with some nice curves, was up next as she roller bladed down the street as a mean dog harassed her from behind a fence. Dez picked her up and drove her home to help out and then left her with Nick Manning by the pool. Nick cut to the chase with her and the two went at it, kissing and playing on the lounge chair before the serious action started. The formula was followed here and Nick managed to restrain his usual lame utterances enough to allow me to enjoy the scene more than I otherwise would have. It was funny when he used her ass to hold his beer (on top of it you perverts) and she was sexually aggressive enough to ride him energetically. It ended as expected with her taking a mouthful of semen and I admit to having liked it.

Scene Three: Brooke Haven, the cutie featured on the upper right hand side of the front DVD cover, was up next on a comfy chair with Dez. The playfulness continued as the duo engaged in foreplay, taking off their clothes as needed to go down on one another. I hated her overly large implants (most of the gals had similar ones) and she could've used a few sessions in the gym to lose a couple pounds but she came off as real when taking him inside her pussy. Did she get off? I didn't think so, at least not until Austin Kincaid joined them. At that point, Dez alternated between them in what is the ultimate fantasy for many men in the world. Again, it was a fun scene although the gals seemed there for the pay rather than the free meat pipe dinner, yet this is true of most porn movies these days.

Scene Four: Autumn Bliss, the hotty featured on the lower left hand corner of the front DVD cover and lean (skinny) brunette Vanessa Lane, were up next in a lesbian scene at Dez's place by his living room stripper pole. The two obviously liked going down on one another and my only disappointment was that they didn't do more tease (Vanessa claimed to be a stripper in the BTS feature and I'm sure Autumn is no stranger to working a pole so why not use those abilities?). Dez then joined them and the real fun began as they all sucked and fucked with relative abandon. I'd have bought some personal lap dances from either of them although a few more pounds on her frame sure wouldn't hurt Vanessa.

Scene Five: August, the gal with multi-colored hair on the upper left hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up last with Tyler Durden on a bed. The initial scenery was too stiff (read: posed) for my liking but after he went down on her for a while, she warmed up nicely. She's another one skilled in the art of milking a nut with the good looks to back it up and I liked her pleas for him to do more. Dirty talk by the gals is almost always a great thing and she managed to elevate her heat by virtue of it nicely. Like the other scenes, it was oral and vaginal only but the gals were willing enough and the manner in which they worked the boners seemed solid.

Summary: Dez's Dirty Weekend 4 managed to follow a formula (of sorts) but still keep the action fresh enough to warrant me giving it a rating of Recommended. The gals were desirable, the extras pretty solid, the technical matters worth notice, and the action heated enough to allow me some well needed replay value. While the cast wasn't featuring the top gals in the business (by general standards mind you), they showed they all were worth keeping an eye on for their skillful manner of working a boner. If the rest of Dez's titles are this well done, I think VCA might be saved from its own excesses and prove the critics wrong.
