Audio/Video Quality: Control 5 was presented in 1.85: anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for release by Digital Playground. The lighting was reasonably solid here, as expected, and that meant that the limited amounts of grain and other visual elements used to lend a sense of texture were minimal. It took me awhile to notice it but there seemed to be a variation in styles as to how the scenes were shot and edited, some of the scenes using a lot more close ups while others relying heavily on slower and pulled back shots. I like a change of pace though some of it still struck me as a work in progress at times, usually not getting in the way of the heat. The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit too, proving what this critic has to say about the production team led by Robby (who did all the work except a tiny bit of assistance provided by Nick "The Wizard" P.) with the DVD mastering revealing no compression artifacts. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. Interestingly, I heard some separation in sound this time, indicating I need a lengthy break in the Bahamas or Robby did something different this time.

Body of Review: Robby D. may not get the acclaim from critics as guys like Jules Jordan seems to receive (though his company, Handheld Pictures, placed higher in the recent 2006 Top Porn List) but a handful of us have been actively spreading the word about his work and recent press releases indicate that some of the "Johnny Come Lately" types have finally come around to seeing what I've been saying for a long time now. His work at Digital Playground has spanned a wide berth and he seems to master all that he surveys in terms of what he shoots. His latest release came out a day ago, Control 5, continuing his series that uses a number of different approaches to hardcore gonzo, with some of the best tease I've seen in a long time by lovely Jenaveve Jolie. The movie had a mixture of themes that often worked, though admittedly sometimes better than others, and fans of the director's works will undoubtedly find a lot to appreciate here as well. If you're still interested, here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Ryaan Reynolds, a gal with a few extra pounds but a well rounded ass, was up first as she walked around the house to find her favorite couch and glass sex toy. The technical values were solid and the strokable replay value was very high in the listed scenes, with a touch of BTS offered up at the ending credits. The extras were light but the levels of fuck for the buck were high thanks to the extended amount of time the movie lasted, keeping even a grumpy guy like me happy as a result. In short, Control 5 was another fine selection to pick up from the newly appreciated director and surely a sign that his potential holds even more.
