Audio/Video Quality: The movie was presented in 1.33:1 ratio full frame color. It was a little grainy with a deliberate attempt to soften the sharpness (perhaps to give it a mysterious feeling). I didn't notice any compression artifacts or other dvd mastering related problems although a couple scenes were too brightly lit. The audio was presented in stereo and didn't seem to have much separation between the channels. It was otherwise okay with the vocals a bit low at times compared to the score.

Body of Review: Adam & Eve makes movies squarely aimed at the couples market but sometimes they surprise me. In the case of Free Ride (AKA: The Hitchhiker 2), they don't stray too far from their regular audience but provide a couple of harder than normal moments. The movie centered on Asia's character who wanders the roadways, getting rides (pun intended) from visitors who happen by. In a sense, it's a ghost story with little of the type of story few want from porn. The plot is disposable and keeping in mind that Asia plans to retire this year (it's her tenth year in the business), you might not get too many new movies with her in them to enjoy. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action:

Scene One: Asia, one of the most intelligent (yet still beautiful) women in porn, had a scene with Steve outdoors. While the sex included oral and straight with a condom, it was still well done with some heat between the two.

Scene Two: Flick and Asia team up on Steven in this one. Flick took some anal but the rest of it was about as hot as A&E gets. Still, there was some erotic energy going on here that can't be denied. Warm.

Scene Three: Mia, a small cutie, and Dee, the Puerto Rican honey, had a lesbian encounter together. I like lesbian action but thought this one wasn't as good as I've seen from either of them in the past. Fair.

Scene Four: Wendy and Eric, a real life couple last I heard, had a scene where they do the deed in several ways, including anal. I think the couple share some real life chemistry and heat together whenever they work in a scene and this scene was no exception. Yum!

Scene Five: Asia graced the scene once more, this time with Shaena and Randy in a very well done threesome. The sex wasn't the most extreme but it didn't have to be and all of them had a good time.

Summary: I like most of the female performers here and the sex was warm enough on average for me to suggest this one as Recommended for any couples or other fans of the cast to enjoy. I wish there was an alternative audio track where the music was at half (or less) of the volume but that's not going to happen so I just have to live with the jazz-lite sounds here. In all, pretty good though not great.
