Extras: The first disc had only a photogallery to speak of as an extra. The second disc started out with two bonus scenes; Poppy Morgan and Harmony Rose (called Harmony Flame here) doing David Perry and Ian Scott while in the second scene Priya Rai did Erik Everhard. It was hardcore smut and totaled 52:38 minutes of sex and tease, the over the top performances indicative of Raul’s manner of having the men treat the women like pieces of meat. Audio/Video Quality: Cruel Media Conquers Los Angeles was presented in anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 widescreen as shot in by director Raul Cristian for Evil Angel in the MPEG-2 codec used for standard definition releases (including 480 resolution). There was a lot of strong lighting that helped maximize the quality of the picture, the camera still showing a lot of extra movement thanks to Raul’s usual jumpy method of catching the action. The editing was on the minimalist side but frankly, that seemed to help the flow of the sexual trysts in certain cases. The bitrate was decent so there were few obvious compression artifacts, the aliasing minimal and given the sheer amount of quality footage on display, most fans will be quite happy; Raul allowing the ladies to provide some heated raw energy even if his attempts to capture it were mixed. The bitrate hovered all over the place this time, higher than usual with most of the movie in the 5.1 Mbps range, but varying across the board depending on the scene. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (at 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering that really didn't use any separation in terms of the vocals (there was some potential to do so here too). The dynamic range was also kind of generic, an area that seemed slightly better than previous efforts and an area that Raul could easily improve to make best use of the great many home theaters in the hands of porn fans everywhere.

Body of Review: Raul Cristian is a European director at Evil Angel, his works definitely more about performers being pushed to their limits than romantic sexual encounters involving chemistry. Most of his work that I’ve seen uses European ladies that are not always the most emotive in their performances, the typical complaint being they act like they are bored so I tend to prefer his work using domestic hotties, such being the case with Cruel Media Conquers Los Angeles, a double disc title sent to me for review. As long as it was, the show only had four formal scenes (with two bonus scenes tossed in for good measure) but this allowed babes like Ashli Orion, Tori Black, Amy Ried, and Madelyn Marie to really shine with a lot of tease and active riding thanks to Erik Everhard and Ramon Nomar.

Summary: Cruel Media Conquers Los Angeles by director Raul Cristian for Evil Angel had a great cast that poured on the heated exploits only a relative handful of performers out of Los Angeles could offer, making it shine by comparison. I based my rating of Recommended on the fact that there were many missed opportunities here, the women often pushed outside of their respective comfort zones too far, the resulting performances suffering at times though often interesting to watch. I was also a bit put off by the way the length was jacked up to include the bonus scenes and BTS footage rather than just counting the movie, even the smaller print including the bonus scenes as part of the movie rather than a true accounting. Still, to see some of the local favorites pushed in the manner that Cruel Media is known for added something to make their fans sit up and take notice, showcasing their objects of lust in a different light than most have been cast in previously so check out Cruel Media Conquers Los Angeles if you are a fan of hardcore gonzo or any of the cast, each of them adding some replay value and strokability in the lengthy double disc outing.
