Audio/Video Quality: To Protect And To Serve 2 was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Melissa Monet for Girlfriends Films to be released in this standard definition version (using the MPEG-2 codec). The video bitrate hovered around the 4.8 Mbps mark when I spot checked it but frankly, the visuals were almost always clearly captured and lit, no compression artifacts or grain noticed in my viewing. There was no company watermark and the composition of the camera angles favored the ladies, the relatively static positioning the ladies took during their sex scenes (either on bed or couch), making it easier to maintain focus and see all there was to see with what appeared to be a single camera shoot. The editing was decent too, not too jumpy or given to close ups as other companies have been of late. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English using a 48 kHz sampling rate with a 192 Kbps aural bitrate, the blending of vocals and music nicely done even if the dynamic range was minimal and the separation appeared modest as well. I could hear the cast during the dialogue portions of the show and there was a good basic approach to the technical aspects that worked given the subject matter.

Body of Review: Melissa Monet is no stranger to either side of the camera but currently, she is directing for Girlfriends Films, a company that routinely advertises that they present the most realistic lesbian sex in adult video. From my admittedly limited experience, lesbians have sex in all sorts of ways different than this company but at the same time, the usual lipstick lesbian fantasies most production companies seem to offer aren’t always that accurate either. In keeping with a promise I made recently, I have agreed to review some of the titles put forth by GF, figuring that Melissa would be a solid first director to check out. So, I picked up To Protect And To Serve 2, a small story also titled “The Way Back” written by Baily Carson, knowing full well that I’ve enjoyed the majority of cast members in their previous works. The story was slight but enough to tie together the lesbian trysts well enough, the erotic nature of them a far cry from most of the extreme lesbian material or the “gay for pay” stuff I’m generally sent. I enjoyed it and while I like variety, I suspect I’ll be watching more from this director and production company as 2011 unfolds. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Asa Akira and Jayden Cole

Scene One: Julia Ann, the busty blond MILF seen on the lower half of the front cover (as well as on the left side of the upper portion of the cover), was up first as she consoled attractive brunette Bobbi Starr in bed. Bobbi was in uniform and Julia was in a revealing dress, their discussion leading to some erotic kissing and caressing, the usual eating and fingering taking place shortly thereafter. In terms of the tempo of the scene, it was slower paced than I’m used to but it was certainly strokable, their personal chemistry elevating the quality of the action as much as their eye contact and caring for one another. As with the other scenes, there was no genetic juice or population pudding, the release of emotional energy displayed fairly well.

Scene Two: Brooke Lee Adams, a curvy brunette wearing a blue top, was up next on a couch with hotty blond Lux Kassidy, Brooke not wanting her friend to leave. They kissed and slowly removed their clothing, the kisses coming in faster as they started getting excited for one another. There was substantial breast foreplay here, the gals making sure to caress lightly before groping harder, the rug munching and fingering each other. The levels of obvious chemistry did not appear as strong as the previous scene but they were still observed, the flow of their embraces working well.

Scene Three: Aurora Snow, a popular performer for years now, was up next on a couch reading a book, stressed out Hayden Night coming to her for succor. Hayden was in uniform and upset over the death of a friend, Aurora caressing her arm to help ease her emotional guilt. They hinted at getting frisky and followed through, some kissing and clothing removal facilitating the sexual portion of the scene. Hayden was busting out of her bra and Aurora’s tits were already loose when they actively started sucking nipples and pawing each other. They had some chemistry too, more than average from the looks of it, their superior eye contact with one another giving it more replay value. They went down on each other a whole lot too, showing a girlish anticipation and enthusiasm.

Scene Four: Asa Akira, one of the hottest Asian performers on the market these days, was up last with redheaded babe Jayden Cole, both having had false starts previously in the flick (Jayden in the shower opening up the movie and a scene where some delicate application of body lotion warmed them up). Jayden was in turmoil over having survivor’s guilt, Asa helping to put her mind at ease with some old fashioned lesbian loving, some titty play and kissing leading to pussy eating by both of them. I liked the pairing but in terms of personal chemistry, it was about as light as I had seen in the show, my perceptions perhaps differing from those of others. They rubbed each other the right way though and it ended with a lot of smiles, the gals having satiated one another before the ending credits rolled.

Summary: To Protect And To Serve 2 by director Melissa Monet for Girlfriends Films was a low budget lesbian romp based on a generic cops and robbers story, the story elements kept light in order to facilitate the sensual feminine encounters by the ladies. There was some replay value and strokability here too, meriting a rating of Recommended or better depending on how much you are into the cast. In short then, To Protect And To Serve 2 provided four heated trysts of lesbian love that were better than expected, the value of them depending largely on what type of female on female action you are looking for (no toys were used, no circus act sex, and no violence).
