Audio/Video Quality: Asa Akira Superstar was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with an aspect ratio of about 1.78:1 as shot by director Axel Braun for release by Hustler Videousing the MPEG-2 codec. There was no effort to provide vignettes or set up the trysts outside of some modest attempts to provide very short tease sequences. The lighting was flat and strong but the editing and camera work seemed as though perhaps someone else was on hand to shoot the scenes rather than parody prince Axel. There were few credits and I initially had the belief that this was just a compilation of previously released scenes but I could find no evidence of this online, the technical aspects typically okay but hardly the best the director has been credited with of late. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English using the 192 Kbps bitrate expected of the movie. This was another modest effort in that there was little music, limited vocals, and barely registered on my notice as I checked it out.

Body of Review: Axel Braun is best known as a pornographic director of parodies for Hustler Video but he has been shooting all sorts of porn for years now. That said, his latest release is called Asa Akira Superstar, a title allowing hotty performer Asa Akira a chance to show how sexy she could be in four presumably unreleased scenes in this short showcase effort. Asa was in each scene and she did some anal, some lesbian, and provided an active set of vaginal rides and blowjobs to boot but it was hardly her best such showcase if you’ve watched the better known gonzo companies really hone in on her abilities of late. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Asa Akira, the curvy young Asian featured on the front cover, was up first with Alec Knight, initially teasing ever so briefly on a desk in a crowded storage room. Scene Four: Asa Akira, next up as a mistress of sorts (complete with faux flogger), ended the scenes by having a lesbian tryst with curvy blond Tasha Reign in a room blocked off by black sheets. Their slutty but colorful lingerie was more akin to fantasy BDSM than the real thing, each gal eating the other out and fingering before a small strap on dildo was donned by Asa to pound her pal silly. The scene was another lipstick lesbian type of pairing and almost a filler in terms of what Asa is capable of providing but it had a few strokable moments all the same. The clean shaven snatches and lack of splooge will appeal to some but the veracity of the gals getting off could not be verified.

Summary: Asa Akira Superstar by director Axel Braun for Hustler Video was a very modest effort given most titles have in excess of two full hours, so I rated it as a Rent It for all but the most diehard fans of Asa Akira. Asa has had a few showcase titles by other companies so much better, I’m talking award winning better my you, which I just could not see this version of her sexy self earning a higher rating. In short, Asa Akira Superstar had four scenes of Asa Akira strutting her stuff on the small screen for about an hour and a half with no real extras, the kind of title you might find more likely coming from a smaller company rather than a mega-corporation and well received director so check it out before you pick up a copy for keeps.
