The movie kicks along at a good pace and never overstays its welcome and the cast are all attractive and enthusiastic. While it may not be quite as original as McKai's earlier art school entry, Art School Sluts, it works on the same level and those who enjoyed the earlier movie will definitely dig this one as well.

Video:

This shot on video production looks pretty clean presented here in a reasonably stable 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen presentation. There is some mild shimmer in a couple of spots and a noticeable bit of mpeg compression evident in some of the darker colors and the blacks but other than that, there's not a lot to complain. Skin tones look nice and natural, the compositions are dead on, and aside from the fact that this digital video production looks like a digital video production and as such suffers from the minor defects usually associated with the format, everything is coming up roses as far as the look of the film is concerned. Any softness that appears on camera, and there's a fair bit of it, seems to be intentional and even if it isn't, it works. Do keep in mind, however, that this movie has a very look to it so if you need your gynecological close ups to be really bright and harshly lit, this might not do it for you. It needs to be mentioned, however, that a VIVID.com watermark appears in the bottom right hand of the screen during the sex scenes - an increasingly popular but no less annoying practice on the part of many studios these days.

Sound:

The Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround track is quite sufficient. The dialogue comes through cleanly and clearly as do all of the moans and groans. The guitar driven soundtrack is mixed in properly at a decent level to make sure that we can hear both the music as well as the performers as the same time. Bass response is nice and lively and overall, for a porno movie, this is a way, way better than average effort and it actually sounds really good.

Extras:

The only really substantial extra on the disc is a behind the scenes segment (7:40) where Octavio Winkitiki guides us on a tour of the set and talks to us about shooting this picture. From there we get some shot interviews with some of the girls who appear in the film, most of whom appear in various states of undress. It's amusing enough, but it looks like it was shot with a camera phone and the video quality is rather poor and very shaky.

Rounding out the extras are trailers for The Doll Underground, Girls Lie, and Content, all fine Eon McKai projects, animated menus and scene selection.

Final Thoughts:

Sleek, stylish, creative and sexy, Art School Girls Are Easy is good stuff and while it's light on extras, the presentation is pretty decent and the sex is wonderfully hot. The style won't appeal to all tastes, as not surprisingly, it's artsy, but McKai's fan base will definitely appreciate this return to his earlier style and this release comes recommended.
