Extra's: The first disc had limited extras like a cumshot recap, cast list for the main performers, and photogallery but the second had some great features as well as trailers for movies like Fucked On Sight, Slutty & Sluttier 2, Anal Expedition 11, Evilution 1, Evilution 2, New Whores on the Block 2, New Whores on the Block 1, Evil Anal, Evil Anal 2, and Evil Anal 3.The best extra for me was the 32:03 minute long Bonus Scenes where Sandra Romain proved to be more woman than Michael Stefano could arguably handle (Jake was funny in his cameo role too). The hardcore nature of the scene included all three of her holes being stuffed and mounted as well as all her energy and enthusiasm let loose to drain his juice. Audio/Video Quality: Evilution 3: Special Extended Set was presented in 1.78:1 ratio letterboxed color as shot for DVD by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel. I would've greatly preferred the movie to be in anamorphic widescreen (the process adds a lot of detail to the picture on widescreen televisions) but that trend still hasn't hit all of Evil Angel yet so I'll just have to extol the virtues of the process on movies released by their competition until they get with the program. I've noticed that Manuel's work for the company simply hasn't been as crystal clear as some of his work elsewhere and this was one more such case. The colors were fairly solid and the fleshtones fairly accurate, but the lighting was not the best this time; making the picture look decent but not nearly as good as some of his older work for another company (RLD) or his best works at Evil Angel. Lighting varied by the scenes (like the night vision work in the second scene) and was spottier than previous efforts but still seemed to convey the sense of raw energy fairly well, some scenes taking on a saturated or yellow tinted look that could probably be easily fixed in post production with the right crew. The amount of grain and video noise were low to moderate as a result so while it wasn't the best I've seen from Manuel (not even close in fact), it was better than some gonzo productions by weaker directors in the field. There were no compression artifacts noticed during the scenes but the strength of the visuals was how the composition of the shots almost always enhanced the looks or perceived passion of the scenes. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps) with minimal separation between the channels and a standard dynamic range, making it nothing special in this sense but not bad either.

Body of Review: Manuel Ferrara has been directing for awhile now and his distribution deal with Evil Angel has really helped him improve his game; giving the man more incentive to expand his boundaries. His latest release is Evilution 3: Special Extended Set, the sequel to Evilution 1 and Evilution 2, where the darker side of sexual tension has long been the focal point of the show. If you haven't seen either of those fuck flicks, suffice it to say that each scene is something only a true aficionado of hardcore gonzo porn will appreciate to the fullest as the cast is pushed in various ways to heat things up in ways that some people find offensive. This time, the scenarios included kidnapping, reverse gangbangs, voyeurism, and related topics that were not for the feint of heart. In keeping with the nature of such work, this also meant that the scenes varied in terms of how well they worked for me, something I think makes sense given the nature of modern porn as this kind of thing works differently for all of us depending on where our collective heads are at. That said, here is a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Renae "J-Ho" Cruz, Lindsay Meadows, Lucy Lee, and McKenzee Miles, were all up first as cheerleaders that abducted football player Christian because he lost the big game. Summary: Evilution 3: Special Extended Set by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel strikes me as having a fair amount of replay value but the technical choices and some of the casting decisions were not as solid as past efforts so I rated the movie as a high end Recommended. I have no doubt that Manuel was pushing the envelop further than he usually does and his superior casting choices may work better over time but some of the technical matters and thematic choices weakened the chemistry and passion at times; a rarity in one of his movies. Still, Evilution 3: Special Extended Set, like Evilution 1 and Evilution 2, proves that Manuel is not above using style and a willingness to explore outside his safety zone in search of new ideas, making this one well worth picking up for you collection.
