Audio/Video Quality: Pink Like Me was presented in a non-anamorphic widescreen color sporting an aspect ratio of 1.85:1 as shot by director Rick Cuban for release by Urge Xotica. In most of the scenes, the lighting was well done (although the final scene looked like it was shot by a blind man) and this helped limit the grain and video noise. I saw no compression artifacts and the advertised "filmed in HDV: 1080i" did manage to come across as though someone were experimenting with some new equipment. The down side was that the composition of the shots often left much to be desired, showing off lots of flaws and not capturing the ladies at their best. If you've ever watched a handful of decent porn and then went to low budget stuff, you'll immediately know what I'm talking about. Still, there was some potential displayed here and it wasn't all bad, just not a reflection of the quality that could have been. The audio was a 2.0 Dolby Digital English track with a lot of generic music best left in the archives from what was tossed on the DVD. The vocals were weakened because of it and there were a lot of imperfections in the vocal track too. There even appeared to be a loop of the vocals used a few times, with some background noise not caught by anyone taking the helm for quality control.

Body of Review: As a new company, Urge Xotica has already started making a name for itself in some circles over the advertised claim that their scenes are shot in Miami and Latin America. It's not a selling point for me but if it matters to you, I hope you enjoy the locals (the inside of a house looks the same all over the place folks). The first title of theirs I took to review was Pink Like Me, a series of lesbian vignettes that weren't all that different from the multitude of material that has been released for decades (falling in between the more extreme stuff and lighter erotica offerings I see all the time). That said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that the formula used was not all that different from porn shot anywhere else in the world:

Scene One: Flower Tucci, one of the leading anal queens in porn these days and gal featured on the middle of the front DVD cover, was up first as a fashion model for Silky Thumper, the brunette on the left hand side of the cover. Silky is a very attractive gal herself but my primary interest here was easily Flower, especially after the opening tease footage where she was slowly seducing her new friend. They did the usual oral on one another and aside from some weak camera work showcasing stretch marks and other flaws, I felt like the scene was pretty solid. Flower is recognized as a skilled performer with both men and women, savoring the taste of all who cross her path in scenes. They each went down on the other and fingered for fun, with Flower providing the usual water works as expected. They did engage in some toy use but it was clearly not the center piece of the scene, nor were they in need of such devices to get off, and I thought it was funny that Silky one upped Flower with some of her own water works by lactating (squeezing the milk out of her breasts) in between some face sitting. Flower was easily the top name of the cast and more could've been done with her.

Scene Two: Ariel and Daisy Duxxx, a couple of second stringers wearing sheer black body stockings, were up next as they fussed about sore feet in the small room. The audio bounced off the walls way too easily (causing issues) and the ladies weren't bad on the eyes, but instead of tease; the scene started off with a bunch of lame talking. This eventually led to some foot massaging and kissing, with breast play when the clothing came off. They did the usual pussy licking and rubbing, looking more like amateur models than the typical porn scene, and the feeling I got was that they weren't rushed (though hearing Rick bark out orders in the background was jarring). The scene ended with some mutual masturbation and the camera cut away.

Scene Three: Brianna Beach, a very attractive hotty with blonde highlights and a lean, tall body, enjoyed the next scene on the couch with foreign-born Katrina as the two discussed a shoot. They also complained about feet and after some teasing, they began rubbing each other in a heated fashion. It seemed more like a porn scene for me than I think Rick was shooting for, with his shadow popping up a time or two as well. Otherwise, they were certainly attractive to me and the acting they gave for their sexual performance was okay but it also seemed like a generic lesbian scene. One of the highlights here was the use of glass dildos, both of which looked very interesting, but sexually speaking I didn't pick up any significant chemistry between them. If you don't mind mechanical scenes with attractive women, it'll be enough for you, fake orgasm and all.

Scene Four: Crystal and Natalia, a couple of brunettes (I wasn't sure which was which) with fleshy asses, were up next as they dispensed with the vocals in favor of getting right down to business outside on the wooden deck. It was an overcast day and the background noise wasn't too bad as the music played for the scene, though the gals seemed a bit to cognizant of the camera for my personal taste. One aspect of note, each had lots of those little facial hairs that led me to think they were not porn regulars and the main action was a lot of slow licking. I didn't get the impression that either was truly a lesbian, perhaps a bit bisexual, but this was another scene that reminded me of a well shot amateur porn (there are almost none of those made in my experience). They did use some interesting glass dildos and fans of Latinas will appreciate both of them, even if they were quite inexperienced at performing.

Scene Five: Silky Thumper, once again on the prowl, was up last in a scene with cute Dasani, after prancing around in a sundress to begin the scene with her skimpy panties on display. As soon as the two hooked up inside the warehouse garage, they were pawing each other as though they were in the mood to be crude. The couch was covered with a sheet and it didn't last long as the duo went to work on each other's pussy. I liked the ass shaking but the technical qualities of the scene were a lot more like the amateur porn I had referenced earlier in the review, with substandard lighting impacting the picture (and the sound was off too). I liked the lotion part of the scene where they got all lubed up but the toys seemed almost an afterthought with looped vocals fucking up the fantasy aspect too. Still, there was enough to enjoy with the scene that I felt okay watching it twice.

Summary: Pink Like Me was most notable for me as an attempt to offer some less experienced gals in lesbian trysts having a moderate amount of fun as they followed a formula. There were some tips of the hat to foot fetish, squirting, and lactating but they were certainly not enough to warrant getting a copy strictly for those areas of expertise. I didn't think Flower was used to her best advantage and the rest of the gals seemed too confined as well but I'm a sport and I'll rate it as a Rent It just the same. One of the problems with such titles is that they need to cater to a more specific niche or have something different if they aren't going to rely on a well known cast, and Pink Like Me just didn't offer up much fuck for the buck, especially when it came to extras and running time.
