Extra's: The best extra for most consumers is going to be the bonus scene from Eye of the Beholder that had Lauren Phoenix and Talon going at one another. It was a passionate scene and I dare say worthy of getting the entire movie it came from. I also really enjoyed the 23.5 minute long All Access: Making of Veronica's Game by Mark Stone. It had some sex but the value added part for me was the cast and crew getting to discuss the production. Such insight may not appeal to many of you looking to jerk off but as a reviewer, it gave me some extra insight into the movie. There was also a lot of the usual extras like the star stats, various photogalleries, a 5.5 minute long interview with Lauren Phoenix, trailers, the Wicked Pictures DVD catalog, four promotional reels, Wicked Casino, desktop screens, Wicked Pictures awards and nominations, company profile, and some silly Easter Eggs (I found them by accident, including "Hutzpah" and "Porn Star Handshake"). There was also a double sided DVD cover for those who care about them (as I do).

Audio/Video Quality: Veronica's Game was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as originally shot by director Jim Enright. The picture looked very solid in all the scenes with the lighting keeping the grain at bay and minimal video noise to interfere with the action. I didn't see any compression artifacts or other problems with the mastering although a couple of focus issues popped up and were soon corrected. The audio was presented in the usual 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English with some decent separation between the front channels. The vocals were all crisp and clear with the music very much like that of the mainstream movie the show was patterned on. In short; the technical values were all very well done. Yay Jim!

Body of Review: Wicked Pictures is currently the top feature producer in the entire porn industry although a couple of companies routinely produce a handful of titles that would be right at home were they made by one of Wicked's directors. While I haven't seen all of their works over the years, I've seen a great many and know how each of their usual directors fits into their scheme of the porn world. One of their regular contributors is Jim Enright, a journeyman director that tends to handle some of the lighter fluff Wicked likes to make these days. I've found plenty to like in Jim's work and his latest release, Veronica's Game is no exception. Based on the mainstream movie starring Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor, Down With Love, the movie stars the lovely and talented Lauren Phoenix as a gal trying to make a name for herself in the publishing world at the expense of ladies man Randy Spears. I'm not going to reiterate every line of dialogue that corresponds to the mainstream version but suffice it to say that the music and "feel" of Veronica's Game is very much a tribute to the big screen version (yet has far better sexual encounters). If you'd like to see an enjoyable bit of fluff with some hot sex, check out the movie and here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast to help you decide if this is for you.

Scene One: Ava, the lean blonde that has turned heads for years in porn, had her scene with studly Randy after winning a contest of sorts (watch the movie). They went inside on a bed (I'd have preferred they stay outside in the sun) and gave each other some good times as they sucked and fucked with abandon. Her throaty screams of pleasure sent a chill up my spine (and a bit of extra blood down my pants) but it was her aggressive sexuality that really worked for me. With solid energy levels and great production values, this was a great opening scene for the movie.

Scene Two: Lauren, the award winning hotty on the front DVD cover, and the youthful Talon, were up next in a scene at night on a balcony. Lauren looked stunning in her lingerie as it accentuated her curvy ass and powerful legs and her own brand of sexual playfulness was in full bloom as she took care of her partner on a bench. The oral was exceptionally heated and she rode in his lap powerfully to get each of them off in turn. Fans of spanking will note that he did smack her fleshy (but firm) ass a few times as she rode in cowgirl position but the passion never abated as they continued with the action. It ended with the traditional pop shot to the mouth but it was hardly a special part of this already great scene.

Scene Three: Aspen, Felix, and Roxanne had a lesbian scene on a couch while Randy and Ava watched them. If the gals have looked better elsewhere, I certainly don't remember it and while they all had a couple of extra pounds, I wouldn't put any of them on a diet. This scene smoldered rather than blazed as the gals looked very content to share a vegetarian meal, foregoing meat this once, and it consisted primarily of oral and toys with some rubbing. If you hate lesbian scenes, pass this one up but otherwise; it was well done.

Scene Four: Aria, the lean bodybuilding porn star that never takes no for an answer (don't ask; I'm not telling!), and pretty boy Dale, had the following scene in the mansion background much of the movie was made in. Aria took the lead this time and seduced Dale but she provided the first oral loving of consequence. His reciprocation was kind of weak but when they began boning, I forgot all about it as she took charge once more. It was only vaginal sex after the oral but she made it seem like it was the top of the world and that made it all worthwhile. Aria's good that way and her many scenes will attest to that fact.

Scene Five: Lauren, looking even better for round two, had Randy all tongue tied as she gave it up for him at night by the fireplace. He sucked her ass and pussy before she returned the favor; each doing a great job on the other. Given Lauren's many anal performances, this was where I thought her ass would take him deep inside but she stuck with vaginal sex, albeit heated vaginal sex, as they rode one another to a passionate close of the movie. If Veronica's Game was to milk his nuts dry, they certainly had some company as she looked tight, fine and super hot. Whew!

Summary: Veronica's Game is one of those movies that'll likely slip well under the radar of most porn fans and that's a shame. It has what a lot of couples are looking for; a decent story patterned after a cute romantic comedy with high end technical values and a great cast with some variety to offer. It wasn't the best release put out by Wicked Pictures this year but I think it's easily worth a rating of Recommended for many of you. I just wish that Lauren had been allowed to really let loose as she is known to do and make her scenes go from very good to super hot as she's apt to do. Regardless, if you enjoy watching attractive people go at one another orally and vaginally; you'll find a lot to appreciate in Veronica's Game.
