Extra's: My favorite extra was the inclusion of a 26 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Brother Love. There were some interviews, some sex, and a bit of goofing off but most of it revolved around some of the cast talking about themselves (primarily Janet, Michelle, Kelly and Arcadia). There was also a bonus scene from China Syndrome between Lucy Lee, Chris Charming, and Mr. Pete. She's a moderately attractive Asian with decent sexual skills. I liked the scene although current reports suggest the actual DVD was worth buying even if this 22 minute long scene was only pretty good on its own (it had anal, DP, and a bunch of ATM for those who care). There were also some trailers, a fetish menu, a photogallery, a double sided DVD cover, and company information.

Audio/Video Quality: Anal Trainer 9 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that it was shot in by whatever director was in charge (there appeared to be a discrepancy since the credits on the cover didn't match the opening credits). The colors were accurate, the lighting usually decent with a few exceptions, and the composition of the shots perhaps the weakest aspect of the entire movie. By that, I mean that there were a lot of close ups that didn't work as well as a medium shot would have (medium shots allow for showing more action) but I really thought it looked pretty solid most of the time. There were some moments of grain and pattern noise on the fishnets but again, they weren't huge problems. There were no compression artifacts or video noise to contend with either. The stereo audio track was about average with minimal separation but you could hear the cast moaning and groaning well enough.

Body of Review: Digital Sin has been a pioneer in porn on DVD since the very beginning of the media's widespread use. Although some critics suggest the company is more of a training ground for directors these days; that just means they're able to offer new guys a chance to shine and take some chances rather than become stagnant by using the same old directors that employ the same techniques. The latest DVD I got from them to review was Anal Trainer 9, a show I thought had died out when its director left for greener pastures. The last volume in the series I watched was Volume 4 and I found it so appealing that my fellow reviewers jumped on subsequent volumes like crazy (I can't say that I blame them). In this volume, the gals were top notch, all took anal, and the entire DVD package was well worth getting. That said, here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and actions to help you decide if this is something you'll appreciate as much as I did, noting that no condoms were used in the scenes:

Scene One: Janet Alfano, a lean little cutie, began the show by masturbating with a glass dildo in her neon pink and green outfit (loved those leggings) both vaginally and anally with taste testing along the way. Ben English joined her soon after to really give her a workout with the dildo and she repaid him with an aggressive blowjob (so he spanked her ass). He then began slamming his meat hard into her pussy, as if to tear it up, before she slobbed his knob some more. This readied him to try her ass and if anything, she responded even better here, even doing some deep throating during the ATM. Ben's not a small guy so she gets full credit for handling him with such energy and it ended with a good facial.

Scene Two: Michelle B., is no stranger to hardcore, vignette driven, porn and she wore a blue and green number as she masturbated with her hand to showcase her ample implants and lovely ass in the well lit living room before being offered a meat pole by Scott Nails. If Michelle has ever had a truly bad scene, you'd never have guessed it given the way she naturally inhaled his dick, using her hand to increase the friction for good measure. In any case, her curvy body looked very good as the scene progressed, proving that a performer doesn't have to look "used up" if she takes care of herself. It ended with a facial and I think they had a bit of chemistry together but the energy was very solid.

Scene Three: Kelly Wells, dressed in the same stripper camouflage outfit she wore on the front DVD cover, was up next as she appeared to be in training by studly Mark Ashley in the living room. He played with her a little bit and got a taste of what he wanted, alternating with a bit of rubbing action before she gave him some of the sweetest oral of the entire show. She asked him if it was alright to try and put it down his throat and gave it a good try (he's not small either); doing wonders for my libido in the process. The screwing portion of the scene also went well as she practically did all the work herself, bouncing in his lap like there was no tomorrow and doing PTM like neither of the previous gals did. A small gal, the anal wasn't as energetic on her part but she kept up the vocals in such a manner that it really worked for me there too. By this point in time, I knew why she earned the front cover and even a guy like me that isn't into gaping, switching holes mid-stream, and ATM learned that she was into it. It ended with a small facial from the pile driver position and was a great scene. Whew!

Scene Four: Rita Faltoyano, easily my favorite gal of the cast going into the movie (and the reason I picked it up), wore a red and white polka dotted bikini that accentuated her lovely body as she masturbated before the camera with a clear glass dildo. Having met her up close and personal a while back, I can tell you that she's another one that gets better as she ages with her skill level approaching near perfect. This was the weakest scene of the bunch but even it was worth a look, ending with the facial and load in her mouth.

Summary: Anal Trainer 9 was well worth a rating of Highly Recommended due to the energy of the lovely female cast, the extras, and the overall quality of the production values. It wasn't perfect but I can't deny the package being very solid with some great replay value. In terms of fuck for the buck, I thought the DVD managed to shine as well since the enthusiasm of the cast was infectious (okay, probably not the best adjective to use in a movie where bodily fluids so frequently changed hands) and the revival of the series may prove to be a great business decision if Digital Sin can manage to make subsequent volumes as blazing hot as this one. Anal Trainer 9 was something Digital Sin, and the cast, can be proud of for all it had to offer.
