Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the typical full frame 1.33:1 aspect ratio the adult industry uses. In any case, the picture was grainy and had some lighting issues at times, but it wasn't too bad. Further, the minor video noise wasn't as bad as many earlier releases and the action was good enough to distract even me. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English that Vivid employs in its features but it was a bit hollow and the music not the best but again, it wasn't terrible either.

Body of Review: Over the years, I've watched a lot of movies by a lot of directors. Some of them improve with time and others remain hacks, usually it has something to do with their employers giving them a reason to improve more than artistic vision. Until recently, I was one of the many critics that thought Vivid director David Stanley was a no-talent hack, kept on with the company for some unknown reason unrelated to talent. More often than not, his lighting is weak and his movies are full of technical issues but also because his writing was substandard. Thankfully, Vivid must've lit a fire under his ass because he has shown a bit of improvement of late with movies such as New Love.

The movie had one of those minimal plots about a young couple enjoying one another on New Year's Eve and thinking back to their past lovers. I was kind of expecting one of those surprise endings Stanley likes to add in but thankfully that was not the case this time. There were only four scenes and the running time way below average but the extras helped make up for it. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: April, one of the leaner gals in the jizz bizz that knows how to take care of a guy, took care of Chris on a couch. He went down on her before she blew him. She then showed her sexual skill by riding him, using her hip action much like Ginger Lynn did back in her prime. They then did missionary before doggy style and the pop shot went to her lovely ass. It was a pretty good scene.

Scene Two: Sunrise, looking as good in the movie as she did on the front DVD cover, then had a lesbian scene with August, Dee and Cherie in a little bedroom with two bed. I liked the scene almost as much as some of David "Pussyman" Christopher's lesbian shows although it doesn't come close to the master, Jim Holliday, but it was exceptionally solid for a director like David Stanley. The gals had chemistry together and even his poor lighting and camera angles couldn't negate it. The sex included a lot of toy use along with licking and rubbing. Warm!

Scene Three: Sunrise, now wanting some meat in her diet, took on both Cheyne and Tony on a living room couch. She worked them up into a lather and they reciprocated on her orally before they all boned. The sex included oral and straight with some energy and chemistry although it would've been better if it had lasted longer.

Scene Four: Sunrise, in yet another scene (good news for her fans), took on Chris on her bed. They started off by kissing and stroking one another, much like real couples have sex, before going oral and straight on us. The sex this time seemed more erotic than hot but her skill shined through and it seemed fun to watch. She enjoyed her scenes and this made me like them a lot more than usual.

Summary: Much like Loveless, another recent Vivid release by the director, this one showed some improvement over his past work. I like Sunrise and while a better director could probably make her look even hotter, this one did a decent job and I'm a supporter of giving credit where it's due. I'm suggesting this one as Recommended or better for any fans of Sunrise out there since she was in most of the movie. If you're dead set on getting a good feature with a solid plot, you'll want to lower the rating though since it looked like much of that was edited out before it was released (maybe Vivid has a new focus group).
