THE FEATURE
The theme of this particular compilation of lesbian pornography is modeling—specifically, modeling for a variety of commercials that hawk such things as shampoo, leatherware, and cigars. Don't expect much of a plot, but the film does offer the linking story of a talent agent booking gigs for these scrumptious ladies. Cover Girls stars the usual roundup of Wicked talent, including Serenity, Asia Carrera, Charlie, Jill Kelly, Missy, Ruby, Stephanie Swift, and Sydnee Steele.
Scene 1
This scene pretends to be a shampoo-commercial photo shoot. Three windblown bikini-clad lasses pose and writhe as the camera whips around them. The editing has an MTV feel, and the music is pure techno pop. Soon, the all-nude ladies get down to business with some silver dildos while propped up on geometrical props, and the results are very fine. We run the full gamut of lesbian fondlings and gropings and insertions—vaginal and anal and oral—and tongue-manipulations. This is a long scene, running about 15 minutes, but it's impressive. Grade: A-
Scene 2
This scene has three new women shilling leatherwear (called Wicked Ware). Again, it starts with a great deal of posing before getting into the action. But I don't mind watching gorgeous women prancing around in the buff. Finally, the ladies strip off the clothes and go to town. I actually preferred the energy of these women, compared with the first segment. There are some fantastic finger insertions and cunny-lapping in this scene, including a creative three-way 69, if you can imagine that. These girls really appear to be into the moment. Grade: A
Scene 3
Here's a big ol' red lipstick scene. It's another photo shoot, and this one features only two women, wearing red leather and cavorting atop a red sports car. Large red dildos are introduced into the scene in creative ways. But this scene lacks the scrumptiousness of the first two. Grade: B-
Scene 4
Sunglasses! All-nude women modeling sunglasses! Why doesn't this happen in real life? This one has two comely young lasses playing naughty atop a billowing American flag, in somewhat acrobatic fashion. Lots of kisp-slathering and fun with toys! I liked this scene a great deal. Grade: A
Scene 5
Now we turn to the realm of music videos. The director, Brad Armstrong, seems to have wanted to create a real music video here, as it drones on and on before a couple of girls start stripping to the annoying music. It's all flash-edited and amounts to only a tease. But then the song ends, and the three girls get it on. But it's the same smoky, strobe-lit setting as the video. There's just too much going on with the editing and photography to enjoy the sex. And it goes on forever. Grade: C
Scene 6
The theme of this scene is cigars. Again, we start with lots of posing, and finally three girls begin stripping each other and then having lots of fun. But by now I'm getting weary of this porn flick's overt style. Too many shifts to black-and-white, too many flash-cuts, too many weird dissolves. That being said, this scene slowly builds up to some nice positions and some fiery energy. There are quite a few tongues against vaginas in this scene. Grade: B+
AUDIO/VISUAL PRESENTATION
The DVD gives you an above-average full-frame presentation. Detail is crisp and colors are very bright and vivid. The Dolby Digital 5.1 presentation is above average for this kind of film, but its surround effects are complete gimmicks. Moans are anchored at the front while music bounces from speaker to speaker, actually detracting from the action on screen.
