Extra's: The best extra was the 19.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Tina Tyler. There was a nice mix of sexual activity and playful banter between the cast and crew with Tina acting almost like a moderator at times to show what interested her. She's come a long way in porn since her first attempts at directing and even her BTS work added value to a modern day shoot. The other extras were the standardized fetish menu, photogallery, trailers, and double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Bush Hunter 1 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame it was shot in by director Mario Rossi for Mercenary Pictures. I was slightly frustrated with some portions of the DVD since there'd be times when the lighting was perfect and the gals looked fine but then the cameraman would move to a different position where the lighting wasn't set right; causing lots of grain and shadows. With a bit more forethought, this DVD could've been the best looking movie from the company to date although it still looked pretty good by my reckoning. The fleshtones were accurate, the loss of focus infrequent, and the overall composition of the shots wasn't bad at all. There was a bit of slowdown in one scene where the show slowed down and another part of the movie where the vocals went out of synch with the lips of the cast but the basic stereo audio was fairly well done too.

Body of Review: Mario Rossi is becoming well known as a younger looking version of studly Rocco Siffredi (some going so far as to say the two are possibly related). If so, the heir apparent to the Rocco regime is getting some great hands on (and cock in) training at Mercenary Pictures as both meat puppet and director all rolled into one. His latest release is called Bush Hunter 1, a collection of unrelated vignettes where the cast had a lot of seriously hardcore sex as they followed a standardized formula. That Mario was smart enough to lead off with the three heavyweights of the movie, Katja Kassin, Sandra Romain, and Lexington Steele himself, boded well for the nature of the action and here's a brief breakdown of the scenes by cast and action to give you an idea of what took place, noting that no condoms were used here:

Scene One: Katja Kassin, the hotty standing up on the front DVD cover on the right hand side, and Sandra Romain, the well known hotty sitting beside her, were up first in the movie; showing that director Mario Rossi pulled out no stops to fully kick into overdrive as early as possible this time. The lame music was a pain but the gals all dressed up in eye pleasing lingerie sure didn't hurt my initial opinion of this one. Sandra wore white and Katja wore black, signifying something to someone I'm sure. Regardless of the metaphors invoked, the two had some solo action with dildos before the mighty Lexington Steele joined them. The gals took quite a shine to his penis, showing they still have what it takes to please a man with their multitude of sexual skills. Both gals took his cock in their ass and the action had some foot fetish stuff, some technical DP material, and lots of taste testing (including ATM; ass to mouth). While the lighting was uneven this time, the energy of the gals restored some of my faith in them after a few weaker than usual performances, getting splooged in their faces to finish up.

Scene Two: Priscilla Ann, looking like a curvier version of the lead from the HBO series Sex and the City (Jessica Parker), was up next in a skimpy black cocktail dress as she pranced around the room to settle on a large black couch. She teased a little and masturbated with a weird looking toy before taking on Mario Rossi in a POV fashion. While not as skilled in oral as the last two gals, she seemed to have picked up a trick or two (pun intended) over her years of fellatiating men and Mario seemed to approve of her methods. She had some extra baby fat on her frame but the way it playfully jiggled was cute. The scene ended with him popping a load on her face and chest but it wasn't as energetic as the previous scene.

Scene Three: Roxetta and Dulce, a contrasting pair of dark and light haired gals, were wisely shot from a distance to start this scene with Kurt Lockwood. They shared his penis orally, gave him a titty fuck, and offered up some serious pussy with a technical DP too. This was achieved with a strap on dildo but that wasn't the only toy in play throughout the scene. The sound distracted me when the vocals went out of synchronization with their lips but the music was toned down from the early part of the scenes so I wasn't as upset about it. In all, the trio liked playing human sandwich and while they weren't my favorite performers, they had some potential. Kurt seemed to be in rare form too, seemingly enjoying the action more than usual.

Scene Four: Tiffany Hopkins, a short brunette with a very lean body except for a nice ass, was up next as she paraded down the staircase to show off her assets nicely. She wore a basic black lingerie getup consisting of a corset, garter with stockings, and high heels as she eventually ended up playing pool before joining Brian Pumper and Anthony Hardwood for a special game. She blew them and they screwed her, focusing mainly on her small, tight ass but moving into a DP before long. She did a fair amount of taste testing and ended up yelling in French throughout the scene before it finished up with a couple of loads to her face. To me, the scene appeared substantially more mechanical then the others and it was a filler for me but some of you will enjoy it due to her look.

Scene Five: Jackie Moore, a seasoned professional in the porn business, was up last as she teased the camera with her stripper shoes and black PVC corset. She also wasn't the best looking gal of the cast but her skill was expected to make up for this fact as she followed the formulaic porn principles established from the very first scene. She took on the Dark Prince, Lexington Steele, after some of the usual masturbation. Her oral focused almost solely on his head rather than try to take him in deeper than she could handle but she made up for it by riding him deeply into her pussy, allowing him to go balls deep. He hammered away at her snatch and she appeared to enjoy it a whole lot as she rode him in cowgirl fashion. It ended as expected, with a wad to her face and wasn't bad, just kind of limited in some ways.

Summary: Bush Hunter 1 seemed to blow its wad early on in the movie with the scenes losing steam quickly after a great start. There were a few other shining moments but far too often it ended up in one play mode for me, lending itself to a rating of Rent It in my book. There was a lot of variety in terms of the look of the gals but the sexual skill they possessed seemed to be on autopilot too often and that reduced any enjoyment I had for the DVD. Still, Mario Rossi did display that he had a good eye for the ladies and the general formula, he just needs to tighten it up a bit before the next time he releases a show of this nature. I have a lot of hope for his potential given past work and some of the subtleties here, if only he would focus in on the deficiencies more to make his movies better.
