Audio/Video Quality: Throat: 12 Years After was presented in the original 1.33:1 ratio full frame it was made in by director Gerard Damiano over twenty years ago. It was shot on 16mm film rather than video with Gerard's wife Paula editing it for him (I think is son assisted with the project too). Like most movies on film from back then, the sex was integrated into the story rather than the other way around as it is today. As such, the sex scenes are short and rely more on imagination than modern audiences seem to care for. There was some, but not much, explicit sex taking place here (which some of you may find refreshing given the way current movies all follow formulas) and the lighting didn't always showcase the gals at their best. There were numerous scratches on the print and other flaws too but this is to be expected of such a historical release. The audio was presented in monaural English. It was pretty basic sounding but you could hear the cast speak and the music was more interesting than current releases.

Body of Review: Looking back to the good old days of my wayward youth, I recall watching a fair amount of porn even then. While I wasn't a reviewer, I did so with the full acceptance of my family and friends, many of whom wanted to borrow my stash (either with or without my permission). One of the earliest releases I saw was Throat 12 Years After, a little feature about couples getting pleasure in a variety of ways that was barely a step above a vignette offering. I saw it was re-released by the folks at VCA Pictures and picked it up to revisit a time over twenty years ago, offering up a review as a sort of tribute to times gone by. That said, here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no credits were given to the supporting cast but the major players were pretty well known (some are still in the business even now in one capacity or another):

Scene One: Sharon Mitchell, playing a hooker, took George Payne back to her room in the first scene. He was looking for something his wife didn't offer (sex more than once every three or four weeks) and she offered him some tease before sitting in his lap to warm him up. He went to boning her pussy but this was sex back in the old days of porn so it didn't last very long and the formula didn't even include a pop shot. She gave him some head afterwards and there was a flashback to her first experience sexually which was blowing Eric Edwards through a metal fence.

Scene Two: Michelle Maren, a brunette girl next door type, gave Eric Edwards a fashion show in their bedroom with her "decadent" lingerie. Like the last scene with George, he went down on her in the bed to warm her up before he jumped her bones. There wasn't much else to the scene although it seemed more realistic than most current porn. Thankfully, she gave him a short blowjob after they ate a meal together.

Scene Three: Sharon Kane, back in her prime as she sported blonde hair and a tighter body, was up next with studly Jerry Butler as she bathed before him. She was an older woman, demanding and experienced while he was a willing participant. He rubbed her as she played with the shower head, giving him some head before they moved to the bedroom. In another flashback sequence, she and a brunette gal made out with some oral included (sorry, I never knew her name) but Jerry was going down on her in the present too. He drilled her pussy too but it lasted about as long as most regular guys do without the aid of Viagra, and he supposedly popped internally before she smoked her cigarette.

Scene Four: Joanna Storm, a hot blonde playing at being a dumb secretary, was up next in a sex club with Joey Silvera. The rest of the cast, including Marc Stevens, Margot Dumont, Annette Heinz, Nicole Bernard, Athena Star, Kenny Dee, Spring Taylor-Dee, John Roberts, M. Fujer, David Israel Sandler, Baby Doe, Alan Adrian, Bobby Spector, and Marissa Montiel, were all present with a lot of oral, some decent vaginal and even a tiny bit of anal, going on. The action moved around a lot but it was the most modern of the scenes in the movie (for better or worse).

Summary: Throat 12 Years After won't appeal to everyone and was something of a trip down memory lane for me but I think it was still worth a rating of Rent It, despite a lack of true extras. If you hate porn from the silver age of porn, pass this one up but aside from the technical matters and lack of circus act sex, there was a kind of chemistry between the performers that is often lacking in the mechanical fuck flicks churned out in mass quantity these days. The price of these older releases is pretty reasonable and they are almost all better than Deep Throat, the piece of crap that started the porn revolution in the first place and the small non-sex bits were cute too.
