Audio/Video Quality: Crimes of the Cunt was presented in the standard 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as most porn is shot these days, by director Jake Malone for Evil Angel. The picture was decent and showed some improvement over a few of his recent releases by using nice lighting, solid composition of most shots (making the women look more appealing than usual), and good fleshtones; looking as technically solid as any of his peers in the Evil Angel stable in the portions where the lighting was decent. The bitrate it was offered in was hovering largely around the mid 4 Mbps range so it wasn’t the best looking title of the day but still pretty decently made overall. Jake kept his rough edge and raw energy at full levels while addressing my concerns nicely, marking it as a turning point in his favor if he can keep the momentum going. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English in 192 Kbps and was generally well done although it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for a gonzo production. I could hear the gals moan, groan, and talk dirty so I was pleased with it but there wasn't any separation between the channels and the dynamic range wasn't all that great either.

Body of Review: Jake Malone is currently the director at Evil Angel most likely to push the limits of good taste in his movies; bringing in a number of fans to the company that left long ago when they toned things down a bit. Jake is hit or miss these days for fans, always willing to try new fetishes and rely on extreme sex acts rather than the more traditional tease and chemistry. His latest release was a single disc offering lasting almost three hours called Crimes of the Cunt. The movie had a theme of murder and mayhem with minimal plot elements weaving the scenes together as the gals engaged in some nasty sex. If that sounds interesting to you, here’s a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting no condoms were deployed this time:

Summary: Crimes of the Cunt by director Jake Malone for Evil Angel was one of his weaker efforts in terms of mass or cross over appeal; even with the deserved ending that made me laugh. The women typically looked out of place, off kilter, and not into the action so this killed the parts I like more than usual. Jake’s movies work best for me when the ladies let the audience in that they are getting off and having fun so the lack of that factor reduced this to a low end Rent It for me, nearly causing me to suggest people pass it up unless devoted to Jake’s harsher movies. In short, Crimes of the Cunt explored some interesting territory but the technical values, limited extras, and inconsequential chemistry were simply too much for the show to recover from.
