Extra's: As expected, the best extra on the DVD was the 25:14 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that showcased the ladies and the production of the movie. There were some rough patches this time but it was fun to watch as I wrote up the main portions of the review. Jordan's female assistant joined him about half way through and provided some playful verbal banter with him about the ladies, the BTS adding some value for this fan to enjoy. There was also a photogallery and pop shot compilation from the scenes but the BTS was easily the best extra by far.

Audio/Video Quality: Butt Puppies was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by director Jordan Septo for release by Venom Digital. The lighting was solid in most cases and that led to limited amounts of grain and video noise compared to similar movies by other directors. The composition of the shots was virtually always favorable to the ladies, focusing on their strengths rather than minor flaws in most cases, and that added some measure of fun to the scenes here. The DVD was mastered well enough and I thought the visual elements worked very nicely generally speaking. The bitrate hovered around the 4.5 Mbps mark, typically just shy of it, for most of the movie and I saw no compression artifacts as a result. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio was slightly hollow in the limited setting of the couch in the living room in most cases. I could not always hear the vocals well enough for my tastes so they were sometimes a bit mixed in terms of quality but once the sex started, everything sounded fine. The audio had the standard bitrate of 192 Kbps and was about average in most ways.

Body of Review: Jordan Septo has seemingly slowed down his production at Venom Digital lately but remains a force to be reckoned with given the manner in which he coaxes performances out of gals that are sometimes considered second tier. His latest release is Butt Puppies, a series of gonzo anal scenes using some of the top anal queens in the world having hardcore sex after some heated tease. The straightforward manner in which the scenes were shot lent itself to focusing all the glory on the women rather than the men or the directing style, a dynamic that more of his peers should consider given the amount of sales lost due to arty farty effects. In a sense, if you are looking for some "damned fine smut", this is a decent place to start given the cast and crew at work here. Summary: Butt Puppies by director Jordan Septo for release by Venom Digital last month merited a rating of Recommended thanks to the casting, the heat generated by the cast, and the levels of fuck for the buck displayed with some solid replay value. There were some casting choices that did not work as well as others but the net effect of the way this one was put together was enough to earn the nod all the same. In short, Butt Puppies used the skill of all involved to make for some decent stroke value, the Behind the Scenes feature adding value to fans of the ladies, even if all of them did not get equal amounts of coverage. Jordan is still a director to keep an eye out for though I wonder if he might be in need of a double disc set like some of his peers have used so successfully to elevate his stature in recent years; the competition for consumer dollars getting tougher all the time.
