Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 full frame ratio color. The picture was grainy and had some compression artifacts but was otherwise alright with minor lighting issues the next biggest pain. I did notice some color bleeding at times too. The sound was in Dolby stereo and was also okay

Body of Review: Compilations are becoming more popular with some companies. The main reasons are that such releases are cheaper to make (in a world of no royalties, older scenes amount to a free source of income) and they give consumers a lot of material for the price of admission. In the case of Vivid's latest compilation, All Star: Blondes, the focus was on showing blondes having sex with other people. Granted, many of these blondes were bleach blondes but that's to be expected in a world where hair color is more important to some people than sexual ability or desire. That said, here's a look at the ten scenes that make up this compilation:

Scene One: Creating Kate: D-Toni English: This is what I said about the scene when I first reviewed it elsewhere, keeping in mind that I'm a fan of TJ: "Taylor, looking very attractive-she's on the front cover if you have been living in a cave for the last 7 years, had sex with Mr. Marcus, a strong looking black guy known for his talents, at a bar. While they are going at it, TJ, an attractive blonde, took on Michael and Ian a few feet away. Watching this scene reminds me of how much eye contact and personality effect a scene. While Taylor is making great use of eye contact with her partner, TJ looked like she was distant and cold. Taylor smiled and TJ grimaced. You get the idea. In any case, both groups only had oral and then straight, vaginal sex. Taylor and Marcus seemed held back while their pals seemed to be doing all they could to keep up. A shameful waste of talent."

Scene Two: Unconscious: D-Robby D.: Dasha, the lovely blonde Russian gal, and Mark, had a scene in a hospital bed that was primarily oral with some heated vaginal sex afterwards. This wasn't a bad scene at all.

Scene Three: Eternal Excesses: D-Toni English: Jill, Lauren, and Eric had a scene by a pool outdoors. The action was actually quite a lot of fun with the gals doing each other before he joined them in the sex. There was only oral and straight sex but the chemistry was obvious and heat not bad either.

Scene Four: The Game: D-Toni English: Dayton, the curvy blonde, and Tony, the sometimes sleazy guy, had a scene in a bed in a darkened hotel room. It was an okay scene but it didn't seem to have any real replay value.

Scene Five: Phone Sex: D-Anita Rinaldi: Claudia, a blonde with ample curves, and David, a long time player in the European porn business, had a scene in an office. There was some measure of heat and the sex included anal.

Scene Six: Haze: D-Chi Chi LaRue: Holly and her real life husband Troy had a scene in a locker room. He played the coach and she played the football player. Half the scene was orally based with her even rimming him a bit before they boned. Since he took her anally after that, I'd say her position on the team must've been tight end. This was a good scene with lots of chemistry.

Scene Seven: Double Cross: D-Toni English: Chennin and Cheyne had a very short scene (the shortest of the whole compilation) together. It was a filler scene for me.

Scene Eight: Hard Tails: D-Robby D.: Bobbi and Marty had a scene on a movie set made to look like the desert. While I think he had fun, she seemed to be going through the paces too much for me to enjoy it. The scene was oral and straight only with a facial finish.

Scene Nine: Life: D-Cleo Edwards: Brittney and Evan did the deed on the back porch while Mickey and Taylor watched. Oral and then straight when they took it inside. As with all the scenes, a condom was used. It was okay to watch.

Scene Ten: Sex Lies: D-Toni English: Racquel, Ian and Nick had a scene in a business. Her over the top yelling made the scene weak for me. Pass.

Summary: I like blondes as much as the next guy and a number of the ladies here really turn me on but the best rating I can give this one and be fair is to say it's worth a Rent It unless you like a whole lot of them. They were a mixed bag for the most part and even those who are fans of most of the cast will want to rent it first in order to see if it's worth your hard-earned dollars. There was a lot of fuck for your buck but condoms were standard, the scenes often seemed somehow edited, and the technical issues were worse than average.
