Extra's: Okay, I admit that I was pissed off when I went looking for the Behind the Scenes feature advertised on the back of the DVD cover and on several prominent websites. I'm even led to believe that this is why one major etailer isn't currently selling it (our sole affiliate) but the bottom line is that companies shouldn't lead on consumers or they should at least lower the price to accommodate the reduction in features. Besides, I have seen enough of Red's work on BTS's in the past to know how much value he adds so it was probably a pretty kick ass BTS. Otherwise, there were some trailers, a photogallery, and a true double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Caught In The Act was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Red Ezra for release by Cal Vista/Metro Interactive. The fleshtones were accurate, the lighting exceptionally solid, and the editing all handled with the kind of care you'd expect of a high end project. The composition of the shots enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit in almost all cases and I have to hand it to Red that he seemed to put a lot into the project given some of the rumors I heard floating around about it earlier this year. Regardless, while the movie was shorter than I prefer, it had enough visual quality to tell me that Red has been under utilized in the recent past so I hope someone gives him the kind of budgets he deserves (and by that, I mean good budgets, not the penny pinching ones most companies are offering these days). There were no compression artifacts either so the DVD mastering must have been handled well too. The audio was presented in the 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English with minimal separation or dynamic range to speak of though the music was nicely understated, the vocals always plainly listenable, and the mix between them well handled.

Body of Review: Red Ezra has long been a name associated with quality production work in porn so it makes sense that Cal Vista/Metro Interactive hired him to make some movies. The latest such flick was a short feature called Caught In The Act; a story about an overbearing boss that liked to fire people for having sex at work or off the clock as the company prepared to go public. The feature seemed to be trimmed at the last minute in terms of story and plot but that's something I can't speak of with absolute certainty given the nature of small porn flicks, though I'd bet money on the assessment nonetheless. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting no condoms were used:

Scene One: Charmane Star, a lean Asian cutie in a sexy dress, was up first as she came on to Kris Slater in the office. She was stoked that her interview was the first for a big expansion project at work and he wanted to share in her positive frame of mind. The scene was limited in how much was shown but I couldn't deny that as a teaser of a scene (the oral and vaginal sex were too short to be called anything else), it wasn't bad. It ended with a facial too and left me wanting to see a lot more of her.

Scene Five: Sammie Rhodes, a busty blonde, and lean but cuter Haley Paige were up next in the large warehouse as the two rubbed and sucked each other silly in a lesbian tryst. The emphasis was on fingering and spanking but I like gals going at one another so they could have kissed and fondled one another and I'd have been happy. The groaning and moaning were somewhat over the top at times but both gals are major hotties in my book so the fact that they kept some clothing on added to the fun for me. Fans may even be encouraged knowing that they used some glass dildos on each other, doing anal without regard for social propriety (kidding-yum!).

Scene Six: Eva Angelina, looking even better this time compared to how she looked in the low lit scene before, took on Steven St. Croix in his office after he had fired just about everyone in the company for screwing around both on and off the clock. Summary: Caught In The Act by director Red Ezra was far from his best work and I wish there had been more to sink my teeth into (and stroke off to) although as a beginner's porno, it might suit some of you just fine. There was no circus act sex and the lack of extras might make it just the right length for those of you with a hair trigger but I still wish Caught In The Act showed some of the spirit older titles from Cal Vista/Metro Interactive had rather than wrapping things up so quickly in each scene. I rated it generously as a Rent It since I liked the cast so much and they looked quite fetching here but make no mistake about it that this was far from the type of contender Metro has been known for in the past.
