Audio/Video Quality: The sound was kind of hollow much of the time but not terrible. The video looked like much of Mr. Cramer's past work-not quite in sharp focus, the colors a bit too rich, and a dvd transfer that's not as clear as Digital Sin is known for.

Body of Review: Porn director's often feel the need to use a mainstream movie as a template, adding in sex scenes and losing credible acting, script, and production values. Such is the case with Phoenix Rising 2: Predator of Eternity. This is a copy of the mainstream movie, The Crow. Personally, I think that when a porno is made of a mainstream movie, adding in some humor is important to keeping the mood light and the sex fun enough to "use" for personal enjoyment. Sadly, no such humor is present here. That's not to say the movie is without redeeming values-the sex scenes are better than Mr. Cramer used to shoot at his old company and with a bit of improvement, I'm sure he could make them look as good as any of the other director's working at Digital Sin. The cast is also a pretty good choice for the sex scenes if not the dialogue parts (with a few exceptions).. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Malorie and Slim had a scene in a dark graveyard. It was oral only and okay to watch once.

Scene Two: Carmen, dressed in fetish attire, had a scene in an alley with Kayla. It was way too short but had some heat.

Scene Three: Kelli, using the director's trademark eye contact (cough), gave Dillion a blowjob at his desk before she rode his dick. It was a warm scene marred only by the weak lighting.

Scene Four: Aria, a cutie with a lot of hair, enjoyed Tony in an alley (even though he spit on her to lube her up). They had vaginal and anal sex and the scene was hot.

Scene Five: Sophie and Eric had a warm scene at night. Like the other scenes, I didn't see a condom. Not bad but oral and vaginal sex only.

Scene Six: Carmen masturbated while Chloe and Lee went at it. I didn't like the editing (a problem throughout the movie's sex scenes) and the lighting sucked but the sex was pretty well done.

Scene Seven: Carmen, Sophie and Dillion had a decent scene together. Again, but for the technical problems it was good.

Scene Eight: Aria gave Eric a blowjob. Too little but fun to watch once.

Summary: This was a sequel to a movie Nic made 4 years ago (according to him on the behind the scenes documentary) although it's a stand alone movie so you don't need to start looking through the bargain bins for a copy of the original. The sex wasn't as formula driven as most porn features and if there had been a wall to wall feature, I'd be able to recommend this to any couple wanting something tamer than Gonzo but harder than cable. Check it out as a rental if you like this type of porno.
