Extras: The best extra was easily the 10:49 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jamal Johnson and Evul Atheng. The ladies were having fun and this being Angelina Armani's first movie for the company, she was given a lot of screen time. There was also a slide show with photogallery, and trailers to movies like Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge (Blu-ray), Island Fever 4 Blu-Ray, Jack's POV 1 Blu-Ray,Cheerleaders BR, Babysitters BR, Pirates BR, Contract Star BR, and Island Fever 3 BR.

Audio/Video Quality: Angelina Armani: The Big Hit Blu-ray was presented in 1.78:1  widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for Digital Playground using the AVC codec in the high definition release with a 1080p resolution. The lighting was decent here, about as good as expected given this was Robby's standard type of gonzo barely modified with feature elements, limiting the amounts of grain and video noise. While I generally prefer stronger lighting in my porn, Robby has a way of showing it all with less light, the tint of the colors off this time as though he were trying for style over substance. The way the scenes were shot and edited was similar in the scenes, more of the tint issues arising in particular scenes as evidenced by the screen captures I added into the review. The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit too, proving what this critic has to say about the production team led by Robby (no specific editor credited though Nick P and Kurt Tortcher both given nods and Joey Pulgadas getting a lot of love in the credits as well). The DVD mastering showed no obvious compression artifacts (the bitrate varying but often staying around the 23.7 Mbps range when I paid attention) but this was not his clearest effort to date. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English (using an audio bitrate of 448 Kbps and the usual 48 kHz sampling rate) with a minimalist leaning similar to the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. While there wasn't much separation between the channels though the ladies were almost always clearly heard and their moans added to the enjoyment of the show for those keeping track.

Body of Review: Angelina Armani is one of those hotties that doesn't come around all that often in the porn industry, her lean figure, captivating face, and raw sense of sensuality sure to make waves as she provides director Robby D. at Digital Playground with some additional inspiration. Her first movie for the company is Angelina Armani: The Big HitBlu-ray, a feature of sorts that shows the newcomer contract gal in her best light as more than just a beauty that looks like retired starlet Julie Meadows. The movie itself shows the gal trying to become a contract killer for the thrills and excitement of the profession when her boy toy Mick Blue leaves for work, the fusion of gun themes and heated sex much like the Naked Aces series that Robby seems so fond of these days. Does the cutie live up to the hype and is this the best use of her attributes the company could provide? Well, considering how much screen time she was given and her three full scenes with men, I think she is about to become exceptionally popular with fans just in time for the 2009 Adult Entertainment Exposition (though technically, this one comes out next year just after the show closes up). The technical matters were such that whatever look was being sought fell short of the mark and the substance of the scenes relied too heavily on acting skills not yet in evidence, some of the playful hamming by Evan working while the deadpan acts by the rest of the cast left me as cold as the abundance of close ups. In short, Angelina Armani: The Big Hit will almost certainly help start the performer's career as a contract gal in earnest so if you keep an eye on the gal it is highly likely that she is on her way up, showing her humble roots in this feature-lite fuck flick.  As far as the high definition version of the movie is concerned, I'm as infatuated as anyone that met Angelina earlier this month at the AEE and I just think this will play best for dedicated fans (past, present, and future) rather than a general audience so give it a look and decide for yourselves if this will work for you.
