Audio/Video Quality: Domination Zone was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Joachim Kessef for release by Combat Zone. Having watched his previous release for Combat Zone, Sperm Drippers, I was concerned that this one would look like that one did (not a good thing either). The good news was that whomever he got assistance from seemed to elevate his technical skills more than a little bit, even if he still has a way to go to be as good as many of his peers. The lighting was pretty good and that eliminated most of the grain and video noise. The composition of the camera angles was mixed as some of the time he'd catch a gal looking pretty rough and no one caught it in editing. Still, it was a step up from what he did before. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital but so little was said that it didn't matter that it was an English language soundtrack. The vocals were limited and the moans & groans were plain enough but it lacked any separation or substantial dynamic range to comment on extensively.

Body of Review: Joachim Kessef is the black meat puppet turned director working for Combat Zone these days. Their 15th title is his release of Domination Zone, a title that used bondage, fetish outfits, and basic sexual scenarios much like Christoph Clark's Euro Domination series that has proven so popular. Christoph's works are a lot better of course but this is largely due to his larger budgets and many more years of experience behind the camera though Joachim seems to be making substantial progress these days compared to his initial offering for the company, Sperm Drippers. If you relish seeing attractive European women get ravaged with bondage styled sex, you'll want to skip the rest of the review and get a copy for yourself. That said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used in the scenes, for everyone else:

Scene One: Sabrina Rose, the hotty in red fishnet stockings on the front DVD cover, and Andy Brown, her counterpart from the back cover with a black corset and equally appealing body, were up first as they hung around in a makeshift dungeon ruled by Steve Holmes. Summary: Domination Zone showed me that director Joachim Kessef could learn to improve his movie making skills, though not quite up to the usual standards of Combat Zone titles. Considering the physically appealing look of the ladies, the amount of reasonably heated fuck for the buck and strokability, I thought Domination Zone was a step up from Sperm Drippers and worthy of a rating of Rent It. The show needed more chemistry, polishing up of the technical values, and the kind of spark that better gonzo titles have while the DVD needed some kind of decent extras to add replay value. In all, it was a step in the right direction so I won't bag on the guy too much but I will say that he needs a crash course in "Heated Gonzo 101" to improve his work at this point. I still look forward to seeing what he offers in the future, to see his growth as a director for example, but I'll do so with the notion that he has a long way to go before reaching the level of competence the company should demand.
