Depending on how attractive you find the female talent, Barely Legal 36 may or may not be an appealing DVD, but for the most part, this is an average entry in an otherwise above average series.

We begin things "South of the Border", where long, dark-haired Carmen is a bartender who apparently likes to tend her bar with no bra on underneath her top! Nick Manning and his girlfriend, Ashley, arrive and Nick decides he is going to show off his masculinity by getting it on with Ashley right in front of Carmen. Of course, Carmen can't help but to join in, and soon both are working their mouths up and down on Nick's cock. Nick slides his dick into Carmen in the missionary position – all while Carmen is licking out Ashley's pussy. Later in the scene, Nick will penetrate Ashley, and it will be Ashley's turn to lick out Carmen. The scene concludes with Ashley getting it from Nick in the missionary position, then pulling out and squirting his load on her lower body, right above her pussy.

In "Upstairs, Downstairs", cute newcomer Ander Page discovers that one of her father's workers (Billy Glide) comes into their apartment every night to read Hustler magazine and jerk off. This particular night, Ander decides that Billy is going to get off in a different way, and she strips down and offers up her naked body to him on a couch. The action here takes place in the missionary, reverse cowgirl and doggy positions, and ends with a nice facial – one of the better ones on this title.

If you're in the mood for an odder looking couple, be sure to check out Rachel and Rob Rotten in the third scene. Rob has that punk 1980's look – you know, the kind where his hair is a Mohawk and spiked like a porcupine, and his entire body (yes, even his dick) are covered with tattoos. Rachel, on the other hand has that vampire/gothic look going for her, and despite the fact that she would have sex with a guy as goofy looking as Rob (whom I assume is her real life boyfriend or husband), I have to admit that I was really, really attracted to her – which may mean it's time for me to give up porn and get some serious therapy…I'm not quite sure.

The next to last scene takes place in a dressing room, where a movie star played by Cindy Crawford gets it on with Jazz, a guy who is her make-up artist. Cindy hops up in her dressing room chair so Jazz can pound her missionary; then the two move over to a more comfortable couch where the action continues in the reverse cowgirl position. The scene ends with a facial that isn't too bad, but I wasn't crazy about the "heat level" of the performance, and the scene turned out to be my least favorite on this DVD.

The title concludes with a little "Cabin Fever" as long-legged blonde Ashley Long and Mark Ashley (no relation…obviously!) go at it in a bed. There's a lot of foreplay here, as Ashley spends a good bit of time sucking on Mark's dick, and then moves into a 69 position so he can lick her out as well. Penetration starts in the reverse cowgirl position and then continues in the missionary and doggy positions before Mark gets up and jerks his load onto her face.

While the video is pretty sharp on this disc, the audio is only average, with the actor's dialogue much lower than the rest of the audio. The extras are somewhat of a disappointment as well, giving us only a chapter selection, a cast list (telling us who is in each scene…which is clearly laid out in the video, anyway), six previews and that same Clive McLean profile segment that has been on each and every Barely Legal DVD release and which, no doubt, frequent buyers of this series are getting tired of seeing. Some volumes of Barely Legal have included a behind the scenes segment, but unfortunately, Barely Legal 36 is not one of them.

Because I enjoyed the performances of both Ander Page and Rachel Rotten, I'm giving the film portion of this DVD an average rating. However, other viewers may find they enjoy some of the other girls better – and some may find that they don't enjoy any of the segments. Unlike so many other volumes of Barely Legal where the set-ups add to the eroticism of the action, there are really no good fantasies in Barely Legal 36. So if you don't think you'll like watching these girls, you'll probably be better off getting one of the other volumes that are available.
