The Movie
If you're into group sex, Hollywood Orgies: Kira Kener is the DVD for you. Within seconds of starting the first scene, you'll see why Orgies is in the title. (Although, even by the last scene, it's not entirely understood where the Hollywood comes from.)

This disc is loaded with sex. In this six scene compilation, no fewer than 43 men and women have sex for the camera. But don't expect any simple threesomes. Instead, each girl is double or triple teamed in each scene, and in the last two, there is some girl-girl and girl-girl-girl action, too. In the rare instance there is couple action, rest assured, there is a three- or four- or five-some taking place just a few feet away.

Judging by sheer numbers alone, it's pretty obvious there's nothing tame about this compilation. As a matter of fact, it gets downright wild. Luckily for viewers, everyone involved is having fun. All the girls are excited to be in their particular situation, and the men are eager to please. Then, the ladies beg for more.

Speaking of the ladies, it seems the entire Vivid entourage is here. Over 19 stars can be found on this one, including Cheyenne, Dasha, Kobe Tai, Sky, Tasha Hunter, and Anastashia Blue, just to name a few. Of course, most of the scenes highlight the talents of the tiny yet voluptuous Kira Kener. And she definitely enjoys herself in this one. In other words, Kener fans will definitely want to check this one out.

Couples looking to experience group sex on film may want to hold off on this one, however. With so much sex going on, this DVD compilation does, at times, go a bit overboard. There is so much skin, so many moans, and so many cuts and camera angles, it's not always easy to tell what's going on or just how many people are involved. It's like sensation overload. These scenes would have been right at home in their respective films, but all thrown in together one after another without pause makes it hard to take. Couples might be better off finding an adult film with one or two threesome (or group) scenes and take it from there.

This compilation is definitely worth renting if for no other reason than to see what orgies are all about. The nice thing about this compilation is that if you don't like one scene, you can skip to the next and see if that's more to your liking. We found ourselves enjoying about half of the clips, particularly the ones with fewer participants simple because it was easier to follow the action. But check it out and see what you think.

Two words of caution! Viewers should take note that this DVD features lots of anal sex, as well as some double penetration and interracial scenes. If one or more of these ideas turn you off, take your rental money elsewhere.

The DVD
The video quality of this DVD is across the board. All the scenes feature full frame video, but only a few appear to have been shot with much quality. A scene looking as bad as a home video follows one with poor lighting but precedes one filmed by a director who was obviously concerned with how the finished shot would look. At one point, Beauty actually asked, "Is this scene out of focus?" In reality, it just looked like watching a VHS tape. In other words, at least 3 of the scenes were sub-par considering today's video standards.

As far as the audio is concerned, there's nothing digital here, but that doesn't make it bad. The moans come through loud and clear. With the scenes being taken from six different films, however, expect the volume to fluctuate slightly from scene to scene.

Despite the package's claim of "tons of extras," the special features are very limited. There are four clips from other Vivid films (two featuring Kener), and a photo gallery.

…Frankly, I was disappointed with this one. The sex was great, but I have to admit, it boils down to the fact that there were too many guys. I'm not a big fan of anal, and with all the DP going on, well, it was a bit of a turnoff. The few scenes with more ladies involved were more fun, but they were few and far between. As already mentioned, most of the sex was great. It really appeared as if the girls were having a blast. That's always a big bonus in my book. Plus, most of the scenes were long (some were too long, actually), so there's a shot from every angle and in every position possible. But in the end, there was just a bit too much going on. Too many bodies. This probably isn't something I would have enjoyed even in my single days. I think I would've liked something a little more subtle. Advice: rent it.

…Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Hollywood Orgies is full of just that. And lots of it. While I wouldn't necessarily categorize this DVD as a couples flick, the film does work on many levels. First and foremost, the people in this film are having loads of fun. And what could be more of a turn-on than that? Secondly, there is something for everyone here: mild bondage, anal, girl on girl, interracial, etc. My biggest gripe about Hollywood Orgies though is the fact that the scenes are so random. They don't relate in any way, shape, or form. For example, one scene (that seems to go on way too long) includes a sex-house orgy fest and then five minutes later, you're watching a very poorly produced interracial scene that looks more like an embarrassing home video than a professional production. Personally, I would rather have been able to follow a story line. No matter how cheesy adult film story lines are, they do help tie scenes together and allow the viewer to follow the fantasy. Also, while the title Hollywood Orgies implies exactly what you'll see throughout the six scenes on the DVD, after two or three full-on orgies, watching so many people having sex becomes literally exhausting. As a female viewer, I would've preferred one or two great orgy scenes interspersed with one-on-one interaction than a DVD full of scenes with three or five or seven people in one room. Overall impression: Rent it. Or at the very least, limit yourself to watching one scene at a time; it's sensory overload when viewed straight through.
