Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in anamorphic widescreen 1.85:1 ratio color. In the broadest sense of the term, it looked good but there was some grain and minor video noise at times as well as some lighting problems. It didn't, however, look bad, just not as good as I'd have expected from an enhanced picture. The format is new to porn and the artistic effects also contributed to the problems (slow motion is better for couples fare than movies from a company like Private Pictures). The audio was presented with the usual choices for a Private movie but I listened to the 2.0 Dolby Digital English track and it sounded very clear in most cases. The music droned a bit but it was better, on average, than most porn made these days.

Body of Review: To hear the critics, Private Pictures is in a slump of sorts. Their stock prices were down last year, a number of their directors have left and with all the new production companies entering the market, how can they possibly hold onto their market share in the adult world? My answer to these critics is that Private has weathered far more serious problems in their history and will be around long after the "flavor of the month" companies are forgotten. With he resources and a willingness to experiment with porn as art, the company has successfully sought out some of the most beautiful contract performers and kept them happy while making no holds barred porn. They are frequently named to "best of" lists (including DVD Talk's own list this year) and address a number of market niches, including raincoater gonzo, feature couples porn, compilations of their massive back catalog and the vignette style a lot of the rest of us enjoy. In short, minor setbacks are meaningless to a company that is willing to adapt to what the fans want. In the latest of their sports series from the company, Private Sports 3: Desert Foxxx, the story focused on a reality television show attempting to get the goods on a racing character played by Steven St. Croix. They followed him and his friends around, taping the inevitable sex scenes that took place, with minimal plot to get in the way of the action. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Renee, a gal with a lean body and long, flowing black hair, let Steven take care of her on some rocks before she spent some time giving him oral. She posed for the camera too much when she should've been looking at him but I'll be the last one to say she didn't look good doing it. They then screwed in a few positions before getting into anal with her taking him all the way into her ass. He blew his load on her abdomen and left happy.

Scene Two: Jessica and Amythiest, both attractive gals with light hair and lean bodies (Jessica looks much better here than the last time I saw her), took on Mike on some bales of hay outside the stables. The were auditioning with him to see if they met the needs of one of the sport stars and seemed to do a good job with the veteran performer. The sex was oral and straight only but it was pretty fun to watch, more than once.

Scene Three: Ashley, the tall blonde gal from England that is about as nasty as you can find in a legal video, took care of Steven, Brandon, Mark and Aussie inside a large auto garage. She did it all, oral, straight, anal and a group grope with a DP (double penetration) as they unloaded their semen onto her lovely, leggy body.

Scene Four: Teanna, a lean Asian gal now under contract for Baby Doll Pictures, and Jesse, had a warm lesbian scene outside under the desert sun. The gals were attractive enough and they seemed to have using various toys and vibrators on one another, making it seem like they both got off. Yum!

Scene Five: Cassie, a hot blonde with a great body, took care of Mark out in the desert after he went down on her (while she was on the hood of a red car). She returned the oral favor and soon enough, they were boning on a blanket with her on top of him.

Scene Six: Jody Moore, the hot blonde Australian, showed off her ample assets on the couch with both Steven and Mike. They went down on her first, getting her ready for action and she toyed with them a bit, playfully sucking on their cocks and otherwise accommodating them with her body. She rode them slowly, even taking a short DP from them, and they ended it by shooting their loads onto her. It wasn't her best scene but the worst scene she's in is still pretty good.

Summary: To the critics I say, the company is in transition but they are still making some hot porn. The scenes here were not the hottest I've seen from them lately but they had something for almost everyone and a cast of stunning…cuties that most men will appreciate. The picture will improve with time on the series since director Gazzman is well known as a technical whiz outside the porn world and for what we get here, including some really solid extras, I think the movie rated a solid Recommended. Watch Private continue to provide some great entertainment with hot women in the future, they just need to polish up the act a bit.
