Extras: The extras were on the light side with five trailers in high definition, a slide show, some spam, limited text biographies for the women, and a 5:43 minute long Behind the Scenes feature in standard definition. Audio/Video Quality: White Trash Whore 38 was presented in 1.78:1 ratio widescreen color as shot by director Jim Powers for JM Productions and released in high definition using the VC-1 codec in a crisp 1080i showing. This was my second Blu-Ray JM Productions release so I was pleasantly surprised that this one had such solid lighting, leading to low grain, video noise, moiré, and other issues directly related to this aspect of production, much like Tough Love 11. The fleshtones were accurate and the ladies were shown very clearly, probably the reason why this back catalog title was selection for the high definition upgrade (though JM titles often have very solid technical elements, they usually strike me as being shot quickly and cheaply). The bitrate hovered around the mid 32.3 Mbps range when I spot checked it too, the resolution and detail of the visuals nicely complimenting the camerawork that did not spend too much time on extreme close up shots. While I haven't seen the original version that came out last year in standard definition, I could see the pores on the faces of the cast, the texture of the sets, make out individual titles on the walls of the office and a lot more proof that the resolution was significantly enhanced. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English using a 48 kHz sampling rate and the usual 192 Kbps audio bitrate. There wasn't any noticed separation but the vocals were clearly heard and on par with most other gonzo releases I've heard in the past year.

Body of Review: Jim Powers is best known for being a hardcore porn director, showing women that are willing to push the limits of social boundaries rather than offer up lovey-dovey style couples porn. While I like a wide variety of smut, what I have seen of his movies for JM Productions is sometimes more than I bargained for, a little going a long way due to how rough some of the action gets. I know his fans tend to be called "raincoaters" and they don't like watered down erotica any more than they like getting kicked in the balls so unlike directors that pander to the public and are not firmly grounded in what porn is to a whole lot of the world, Jim is a proven quantity when it comes to the market niche he serves. His latest release making it my way is White Trash Whore 38, a set of three scenes where Amber Rayne (in two of them) is pushed past her usual limits and the advertised return to the industry of Allysin Chaynes fleshes out the other. The dynamic here is heavily based on interracial action where the women are stuffed, fucked, and left to clean up by a number of mopes, the flick lacking any subtlety from what I could see. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Amber Rayne, the brunette featured on the front cover surrounded by the male cast members, was up first having escaped from her incarceration only to find her home was in a shambles. While I could be mean and point out that the old fashioned style of air conditioning (missing walls) at least let her commune with nature, she was not as happy. Breaking out the beers and heading to the junkyard out back, Amber then decided to get some action from both Tony Eveready and Julius Ceazher, the sunlight illuminating the look of the high definition outing much better than artificial lights. The resolution allowed for tons of details to jump out at me in a near 3-D experience, the sweat on the balls, the flies buzzing about her pussy, or the pores of her skin all popping out readily. She actively slobbed their knobs as they prepared to pound her pussy hard, the streamers and dirty talk making this yet another Jim Powers outing where there was no doubt who he was shooting for. In that sense, it worked wonderfully with the high definition presentation outperforming many of the much higher budgeted features you will see on the market these days. There are precious few titles in high definition that cater to the raincoaters market that this one should be considered a top pick, though for my tastes, I thought it merited a rating of Recommended due to the limited extras. In short, White Trash Whore 38, like Tough Love 11 before it, proved that companies like JM are just as welcome in the high definition markets thanks to the way they give fans what they want (why settle for less?) so check it out if you have the balls to handle it.
