Audio/Video Quality: Amanda's Diary 2 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by director John Millerman for Private. The picture was great and the audio wasn't bad for the time but here's what I said initially: "The picture was very clear. The audio, dubbed
from another language, was better than average for a Private movie. The
music wasn't great but it didn't get in the way either." There were no compression artifacts, video noise infested scenes, or other problems although some of the shot compositions weren't completely flattering to the women in the scenes.

Body of Review: Revisiting older porn is something that many people simply don't do since they get infatuated with the flavor of the month performers, the increasingly harsher forms of sex being shown (typically called circus act sex), and because the ran out of interest in older titles. I've found that giving yourself a break from the new stuff as you delve back into the older stuff to be a refreshing way to appreciate where you came from and how to improve your outlook in general. This idea works for me both as a reviewer and as a connoisseur of porn so with that, I turn my gaze to a title I remember watching years ago, Amanda's Diary 2, a short series from Private that offered some very attractive gals having a great time. Here's what I said about it: Amanda's Diary is a series of movies that focuses on a young gal, played by Kate,
who learns to explore her sexual nature after her 18th birthday. In this
second of the series, she continues her quest for sexual satisfaction and is
in each of the scenes. There were only 4 scenes here but each was longer
than average and allowed the cast to fully explore one another more than
usual. Some condoms were used if that matters to you. Here's a breakdown of
the scenarios with a shaky cast identification of the second volume in the popular series:

Scene One: This started out as a 4 woman orgy at a dress makers shop.
Kate, Katy, Monic and Ursula took care of each until Andrew and Nick joined
them. The scene was pretty warm with plenty of oral, straight, and anal sex
before the facials.

Scene Two: Nicol and her waiter boned in what had to be the cleanest
kitchen I've ever seen (it looked to be in a small home that was empty).
Kate joined them after awhile and the threesome had fun.

Scene Three: Another orgy scene, this time in a beach cabana, with
most of the cast except Nicol. It included DP sex as well as everything else
you'd expect. I liked some of it more than the rest as not all the
performers were as talented as the others. It was fun overall.

Scene Four: Kate and Nicol had sex with a guard in the museum. I
think his name is Joe (he was in the beach scene too). Not only did the
scene include anal, but it also had our two leads engage in cum swapping.
I'm not a fan of that but the scene was well done otherwise.

Summary: Amanda's Diary 2 was one of those shows that I've learned to like more as time went on. I know Private has used some of the scenes in their multitude of compilations, and these have held up pretty well considering the straightforward nature of the sex acts involved (as time goes on, the less the cast did in an older scene, the less appealing it seems to be to an audience fixated on the hardest of hard core acts). I think it's worth a rating of Recommended and here's what I initially said about it: " The sex was more extreme this time with plenty of anal for
you butt lovers out there. The women were all good or better looking and
they seemed to enjoy themselves as much as I did watching them. I liked the
fact that there were fewer, but longer, scenes where the cast could more
thoroughly explore each other. I wish there had been one more scene to flesh
out the DVD since the going rate for it is so high but perhaps it will get
cheaper like other Private DVDs have become. The current online price of this one is between $20 and $36. I'd feel more
comfortable paying about $16 for it considering the short length of the
feature along with the cookie cutter extras it used but I'm fairly thrifty
so adjust your own value scale accordingly. Fans of Kate's will be hard
pressed to find a better set of DVDs to buy since she's in every scene. Note to Private: I like the series a lot-even though the value it
provides is a bit weak. Please start adding who's who on future releases in
the chapter selection screen if nowhere else. Thanks!" I'm still caught up in the value equation but every once in awhile, Empire has a sale so it's worth waiting for in my opinion.

This Don Houston "retro-review" was written long ago before the so-called Professor of Porn had much experience writing reviews.
