Audio/Video Quality: The Virgin was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Billy Visual for Digital Playground. Billy was joined on camera operation by Sir Richard Manwin III and Joey Pulgadas was the editor, Andy Appleton (and likely Kylie Ireland) handling art direction and many of the usual crew contributing in their roles though Billy “Da Kid” wore multiple hats on set. The camera work was steady and the resolution decent in most cases, the framing of the footage and flesh tones largely accurate due to the decent lighting. There was no company watermark on the screen at all times and the editing was actually pretty smooth, the picture falling short of many of the titles shot using the Red One system awhile back but better than many others shooting at this time. The aural experience was presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround, the surround aspects believed to be added in post production rather than natively shot as such. Seth Cardigan was the only one credited with sound other than the gaffer but the vocals were clear, the music appropriate, and the blending of both with some ambient noises handled well enough for a low end porno.

Body of Review: Billy Visual is one of the more prolific production crew working at Digital Playground these days, his role usually listed as a cameraman but being tested as a director of late. His latest project as such is called The Virgin, a showcase feature for cute cover gal Jade Nile, a story about a young woman finding sexual fulfillment courtesy of an older man when her male peers continually prove their loyalties to their cocks over her. While not the type of flick I generally associate with the company these days, it was well done on technical aspects and the women in supporting roles such as Scarlet Red, Allison Moore, and Bridget Bond all added some flavor to the mix against guys like Tommy Pistol and Mick Blue. The back cover described the movie like this: “Jade Nile, the innocent flower has been lusting over the thought of experiencing a real man. She has been dreaming of the day she’ll experience her first cock and finally, she’s ready. Her sexual awakening begins when she meets an older gentleman. He introduces her into a world of sexual exploration, intense pleasure and infinite orgasms!” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Summary: The Virgin by director Billy Visual for Digital Playground was a pleasant little outing meriting a rating of a light Recommended from me, Jade Nile definitely worthy of more attention from the industry and fans both. The writing by “Oscar Vine” was about as hit or miss as the acting but as a couples flick, it had some moments I enjoyed other than just tied to the sexual portions of the show. Jade Nile earned her role here and while not generally my type, pulled it off credibly enough, the other cast members doing well to make her look good so it was a sleeper for me even if not exactly what I associate as the kind of movie the company has been making. In short, The Virgin hot some common themes and did so well enough that the lightweight sexual trysts should work for the intended audience, the action less about passion than just furthering the story so check it out and let me know what you think.
