Audio/Video Quality: Fetish Frenzy: The Best of Private 68 was full of scenes with either a 1.33:1 ratio full frame aspect ratio or the seemingly more common (these days in Private's fetish lines) widescreen ratio they employ. The older scenes were full frame and the newer ones were widescreen (for the most part), with the quality varying as much due to age of the scene as anything else. The scenes tended to reflect their darker themes in terms of lighting, causing a few of them to have an excess of grain and video noise but a few also looked at least as good as anything from Private in a long time too. The compositional aspect of the scenes varied since each director represented here had a varying amount of talent in making the performers look good but none of the scenes were bad in this sense. I saw no compression artifacts and the DVD played fine in my player so I was happy with that given some quality control issues of late. The audio was generally presented in stereo English but some of the scenes were dubbed poorly and the music in others was lame.

Body of Review: Compilations have been taking over the wonderful world of porn in recent years as companies discover the benefits of using what they already paid for to reap financial gains from consumers more interested in getting lots of fuck for their buck than new action or higher quality. Some compilations are better than others with companies like Private being among the best in terms of providing themes consumers enjoy. Their latest collection on DVD is Fetish Frenzy: The Best of Private 68, a series of eight scenes that all played up the fetish clothing aspect of their hardcore fuck fests, with many of them pretty hot to watch. Like the last volume in the long running series, Volume 65, your personal sense of value will depend on how much you're into this kind of thing and how many of the scenes you already own from the movies they came from (maybe some day, Private and others will list the scenes on the outside of the package but I'm not going to hold my breath). That said, here's a quick take on the scenes if you're still interested, noting that condoms were not used at all:

Scene One: Secret Delights of Baroness Kinky: D-Frank Thring: 11/5/2003: Sylvi and Alissa, the very attractive gals on the front DVD cover in school girl uniforms, and Frank Gun, wearing a gas mask and women's garters and panty hose (you heard me), had a scene in the foyer of a large mansion by the staircase. The gals were in charge of him but showed some nice oral skills as they took turns sucking him off before he got to give them some vaginal and anal sex on the floor while they ate each other out. It looked visually appealing but the gals weren't all that seasoned or skilled at taking a dick up their asses. Scene Two: House of She-Wolves: D-Susi Medusa Gottardi: 1/2004: Elen, an attractive blonde with a nice set of curves, started off the sex wearing tight leather pants, matching thigh high boots, a corset, and a collar as she serviced Franco, George, and Gabriel in the courtyard to a large villa by the outdoor pool. Her oral skills were decent with a lot of energy but the mechanical nature of her act was a bit weaker than I liked. Even when she tried to take all of them into her mouth at once, it seemed like she was being directed to do so, not out of her own desire, limiting the heat for me. The guys boned her pussy and ass, with a lot of DP action to boot, but she seemed less an active participant and more a cock socket, once again limiting the scene. She took the facials at the end but I wanted to see her in a better scene after watching this one.

Scene Three: Fetish Garden: D-Jose Maria Ponce: 2/2003: Stacy Silver, Andrea Moranti, Ramon Nomar, and Robby Blake, were up next in a stylish dungeon where Stacy felt free to explore her inner desires. The scene had anal and a DP but the main emphasis was on the massive amounts of oral sex that took place. Stacy is known as one of the better European suck sluts and this scene proved it over and over again.

Scene Four: Sex Angels: D-Xavi Dominguez: 10/5/2003: Silvia Lancome and Angelica were up next in what amounted to the only warm scene from the over rated feature movie. While only a lesbian scene, the fetish elements were in full force here as the costumes, dungeon, make up and domination factor took center stage. The use of a strap on dildo both vaginally and anally was interesting with the dirty talk improving the scene a bit too.

Scene Five: Theatre of Lust: D-Susi Medusa Gottardi: 1/2004: Julie, the hot blonde on the front DVD cover, started off the sex with an homage to Nazi Germany. Her partner was Gabriel, a guy wearing rubber underwear, mask, gloves and pantyhose. Admittedly, this made me laugh out loud for several moments, since I failed to see the attraction of the outfits but she was pretty hot looking and I'd have probably worn such a sissy-boy outfit too if I'd get laid by her. She blew him and took him in her pussy and ass, although it was strictly mechanical sex, just like your father probably bought from Europeans while serving in the military, but she did look good.

Scene Six: Fetish Therapy: D-Frank Thring: 2/1999: Sky, Shilla, Kevin Long, and Leslie Taylor were up next as the guys were forced to wear hoods and chains as they serviced the two gals. I'm not particularly into the latex masks but fans of crops used for spanking, female superiority, and the usual forms of gonzo sex acts you'll find in Private's movies will enjoy this somewhat short scene. It had anal and a DP but the most important thing for this compilation will be the outfits and S&M action. In all, it wasn't bad but the poor dub didn't help any in my book.

Scene Seven: Superfuckers 6: D-Pierre Woodman: 12/2001: Carrie Lee, Katy, Bob Terminator, James Brossman, and Sebastian Barrio, were up next as the guys were forced to follow orders or suffer the consequences of their mistresses flogger. She directed the action throughout the scene, with lots of oral, anal and a DP to go with the fetish attire worn by the entire cast. In terms of heat and energy, I've seen better but it appealed to me in a limited way.

Scene Eight: Sex In A Frame: D-Kovi: 12/2001: Sandra Iron and Kyra, dressed to the hilt in PVC attire, were in a room full of candles before their slave, Choky Ice, came into view. They were all dressed like something out of a Scandal music video from the 1980's (or perhaps a gay video from the 1990's) when the gals took him to the table and started pouring wax all over his body (from the candles). They engaged in oral sex (giving and receiving) on him before some boning took place with a little foot fetish action as a bonus for those into it.

Summary: Fetish Frenzy: The Best of Private 68 made a lot out of the fetish attire the cast wore in their scenes but sometimes fell short when it came to following through on the actual action. In true fetish movies, the action should be balls to the wall true to form with little compromise in regards to what is being offered. In a domination movie, that might mean the gal never allows the guy to give her a facial, plows his ass with a strap on, or otherwise remains in control, since the caving in aspect of many of these scenes weakens the overall quality of the theme. I still thought it was good enough to warrant a rating of Recommended but only just since the limitations held it back. Check it out if you're into this kind of thing but don't expect anything substantially different from what Private has offered in the past.
