Extra's: The best extra was the brand new scene starring Harmony as she took on Manuel, Mark, and Mick for about 36 minutes. I described it below but you'll be hard pressed to find as good a bonus scene in most gonzo releases these days with this amount of stroke value. The first great extra after that was the 20 minutes of deleted sex footage where Maya Hill really shined. Maya was impressive but the others could have served up some solid additional stroke material too if given the chance, all done in the manner fans have become accustomed too (though still in letterboxed widescreen). I also really liked the 19 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Manuel as it showcased several of the ladies really well. Jake shot some of it but fans of anecdotes from porn sets will find a lot to talk about here. Even longer was the 55.5 minute photoshoot feature that showed the guys taking a lot of pictures of the ladies in sexy poses, clearly superior to many other features available on the market these days. There were also 6 filmographies, a photogallery, a cast list, a cumshot recap, some websites in the double disc set as well, and trailers for movies like Fucked On Sight, Evilution 1, Evilution 2, New Whores on the Block 2, New Whores on the Block 1, Evil Anal, Evil Anal 2.

Audio/Video Quality: Anal Expedition 11 was presented in 1.78:1 ratio letterboxed color as shot for DVD by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel. I would've greatly preferred the movie to be in anamorphic widescreen (the process adds a lot of detail to the picture on widescreen televisions) but that trend still hasn't hit Evil Angel yet so I'll just have to extol the virtues of the process on movies released by their competition until they get with the program. I've noticed that Manuel's work for the company simply hasn't been as crystal clear as some of his work elsewhere and this was one more such case. The colors were fairly solid and the fleshtones fairly accurate, but the lighting was not the best this time; making the picture look decent but not nearly as good as some of his older work for another company (RLD). Lighting varied by the scenes and was spottier than previous efforts but still seemed to convey the sense of raw energy fairly well. The amount of grain and video noise were low to moderate as a result so while it wasn't the best I've seen from Manuel (not even close in fact), it was better than some gonzo productions by weaker directors in the field. There were no compression artifacts noticed during the scenes but the strength of the visuals was how the composition of the shots almost always enhanced the looks or perceived passion of the scenes. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with minimal separation between the channels and a standard dynamic range, making it nothing special in this sense but not bad either.

Body of Review: Manuel Ferrara has long been a ladies man that women seem to really enjoy working with so it came as no surprise to me a few years back that he started working as a director; using his charm and charisma to get the best work out of his cast like few others can. Now that he works for Evil Angel, the stakes are raised since he has larger budgets to do what he likes and offer superior extras, something few companies seem willing to do these days. His latest release if the double disc Anal Expedition 11: Special Extended Set, a set of four long scenes (not counting the bonus scene of course) that gave Manuel and a horde of great anal performers the chance to really shine. If you've seen some of his previous works, you'll know exactly why fans find his movies to be a perfect fit at the company; not always providing the most technically perfect picture but usually showing some of the most established directors in the business that raw energy beats technical perfection when all else is equal. That said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Bobbi Starr, a cute brunette with a curvy ass wearing black gloves and fishnet pantyhose, was up first as she teased the camera outside in the shade. The level of replay value, strokability, and fuck for the buck was well above what some of his peers offer at the company and that was why I rated Anal Expedition 11: Special Extended Set as Highly Recommended.
