Extra's: Like most releases by Platinum X Pictures, the extras were very solid in terms of both quantity and quality. In the order they appeared on the DVD, there was a cute featurette called "Whore Moans with Hillary Scott" where she masturbated for 3.5 minutes (including some ATM with a large glass dildo) as she gave a great vocal performance; a director's biography of Brandon Iron, a minute of so photoshoot where Brandon took pictures of the gals while wearing (gasp!) a Red Light District T-shirt (doesn't PXP have any for him?); a couple of bonus blowjobs by Staci Thorn, some trailers, a photogallery, a 9.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature, a short titled " A Random Act of Oral Kindness with Natalee Long: that lasted about 6.5 minutes, a double sided DVD cover, and some female credits.

Audio/Video Quality: A Good Source of Iron 5 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Brandon Iron for distribution by Platinum X Pictures. The fleshtones were largely accurate (as all PXP seem to be these days), the focus perfect, the lighting mostly well done, and the composition of the camera angles designed to showcase the gum guzzling action of the cast. I saw no grain, no compression artifacts (and I watched this one twice folks, once with a friend who previously believed PXP DVD's to look problematic: I put him to a bet about pointing out flaws and he lost, big time!), and whatever flaws might've been present were few and far between (there was a bit of darkness on a few POV shots). The stereo audio was as basic as ever with the gals being heard well enough and the guys generally keeping quiet.

Body of Review: Two of the leaders in producing gonzo porn in recent years have been Red Light District and Platinum X Pictures. In terms of value, they are virtually always at the top of the pack since they are low cost leaders but still maintain the picture clarity so many fans appreciate (their main competitor falls short on picture quality all the time). In general, if you want good looking gonzo at a fair price, these two companies are as good as you'll find. In terms of what differentiates the two (RLD and PXP) from one another, the line is blurring as directors from each work for the other but PXP is considered the edgier, more hardcore of the two, often providing sex acts you won't find even at Evil Angel (the high cost leader of the gonzo field that makes some great porn by the way) such as anal creampies. With all the gonzo available to consumers though, there is a burgeoning field that seems to find favor almost universally; the oral or blowjob release. With so many companies offering this kind of thing, picking a winner can be tough, with some fans choosing by virtue of cast member, others by company releasing the DVD, and still others using the director as their guide. That brings us to today's review of A Good Source of Iron 5, the latest release in the series of blowjob gonzo that I last reviewed with Volume 2. The director in question for the series is, of course, Brandon Iron, the Canadian boy wonder long known for his clarity of vision in porn.

Brandon is not generally someone known for his weak sex scenes. If anything, his work is often so hardcore, so edgy, and even so excessively rough that a great many of you might as well stop reading this review in favor of something more couples friendly. I'll admit that even a jaded old porn hound like me can only watch so much of Brandon's rougher movies without taking a break but the point I'm making is that unlike so many hack directors, Brandon really cares, and is really into, what he shows in his movies. If that's not the sign of a good director, in terms of content if not the technical values, nothing else is either. As far as A Good Source of Iron 5, I think Brandon shows that he, like most of us, enjoys a gal slobbing his knob with enthusiasm. That's exactly what the 24 (yes 24!) scenes here show.

The primary action of this, and any other volume in the series, is to show gals blowing a horde of uncredited men with a sense of gusto or liveliness that we don't usually get in our personal lives. From the gagging, to the streamers, to the all out ball sucking fun we pay for. The scenes typically ended with either the gals getting splooged on their faces or downing multiple loads as though they were starving for semen to fill their bellies. There was a little fucking (vaginal or anal) in a few scenes but the emphasis was definitely on the oral as it should've been given the advertised action all over the back DVD cover. Such advertising copy might normally be taken with a grain of salt but I think they under counted a few loads here with blurps like:

Rather than try to differentiate the 24 scenes in terms of who sucked the best, or most meat pipe, suffice it to say that this is on the short list for solid oral action related DVDs on the market. The gals all managed to appear as though they were into the action and sexually skills, and while few of them were in my top ten list for cute porn performers; I wouldn't have turned down a knob slobbing myself if any of them offered me a hummer. I think the DVD was worth a rating of Recommended given the sheer quantity of action here, noting the quality was pretty solid too.

Summary: A Good Source of Iron 5 was worth a rating of Recommended for any of you that enjoy seeing a bunch of porn gals sucking a great many dicks, swallowing the loads worked out, and getting messy with whatever semen is missed. It wasn't my favorite Brandon Iron release but it was certainly worth your time, energy, and own hand to gland work out if that's what you find appealing. The gals were attractive, the production qualities very nicely done, and the amount of suck for the buck easily worth the price of admission.
