Extras: For some of you, the 28:52 minute bonus scene from Hustler XXX 31 starring Alexis Texas, Desire Moore, and Otto Bauer will be the best extra. Personally, I prefer my extras related to the production so while it was a nice treat for me (I had not seen the scene previously), others may already have it in their collections. There was then some spam, a 2:50 minute Blooper Reel, a slide show, more spam, some trailers, and then a 29:48 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. The BTS began with Brad getting his hair dyed for the show, Alexis being made up to become "Kelly" and discussing how much of a fan of the original show she was (as well as provide anecdotes about the diner), the other gals having sex or giving interviews, and Madison speaking at length about her accident prone nature as well as some more generic footage from the shoot.

Audio/Video Quality: This Ain't Beverly Hills 90210 XXX (Blu-ray) was presented in a colorful 1.78:1 ratio, widescreen, offering as shot by director Axel Braun for Hustler Video using the 1080i resolution and AVC codec typical of standard definition projects. There appeared to be an attempt to do this one right, paying closer attention to the sets, the clothing, and other visual elements of the movie this time, the folks at Hustler wisely listening to those who point out the best way to make a sitcum work. The editing wasn't as tight as the best genre efforts but Claudia Ross seemed up to the task of polishing up Axel's raw footage nicely enough. The standard definition version of the flick had few compression artifacts, only a bit of noise & edge enhancement, and proper lighting to assist in making the movie look more like the original, the art direction credited to the director himself. In short, in terms of the visual esthetics, this title fell a bit short of the original volume in the series but wasn't bad at all, still a notch above most of Axel's works in the sitcum genre. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a 224 Kbps audio bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate, the script by Roger Krypton enhanced by some of the aural elements of the score.

Body of Review: Axel Braun has helped elevate the status of Hustler Video as one of the most productive sources of the recent sitcum craze, giving them an in-house director that some believe will eventually succeed the folks at X-Play, if Lee Roy Myers doesn't get there first. His latest parody release is called This Ain't Beverly Hills 90210 XXX, pornifying the ensemble antics of the generation X'ers that proved so popular years ago, the minimal storyline allowing for plenty of sex along the way. Of all the types of mainstream television shows to copy, this is one of the toughest in my opinion because there are few classically accepted icons related to the show, the sense of fashion, ever changing hairstyles, and even cast turnovers such that I had my doubts whether Axel was up to the challenge. The company press release described the show like this: "The storyline takes us to The Peach Pit, where the parody 90210 gang is doing their usual B.H. activities. While Donna annoys all with her constant whining, Jake Hansen, an old drifter friend of Dylan's, comes to town and intrigues Kelly. Brenda and Dylan evade the boredom of a privileged life by running off to Mexico for a romantic getaway. Meanwhile, Kelly helps Jake with his "tool belt"; Donna is consoled by Mr. Walsh; and Brandon teaches Steve how to tell if a girl will do anal or not! Andrea is keeping Brenda and Dylan's secret vacay on the down-low, but is distracted by Steve and his desperate need to get laid. Will Brenda and Dylan's cover get blown? Will Steve get a little backdoor action with Andrea? Will Jake "hammer it" home with Kelly? Does anyone give a shit about Donna? Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Summary: This Ain't Beverly Hills 90210 XXX (Blu-ray) by director Axel Braun for Hustler Video was not as easy for me to analyze as most other shows since my own recollection of the original show was limited, but the director showed an attempt to incorporate broader elements and work with a decent screenplay courtesy of Roger Krypton to enhance the production. The amount of fuck for the buck, strokability, and replay value all combined with an attractive set of babes in the cast to make this a title worth giving a Recommended to, the rough edges certainly evident but not such that they dragged it down like weaker volumes in the sitcum series. Unlike the very best sitcums on the market, this movie did not provide a tribute to the original show so much as poke some fun at it within certain boundaries but given the lameness of the show, that seemed the best way to handle the material as far as I was concerned. In short, fans of the original show might take exception to some liberties taken during this one but This Ain't Beverly Hills 90210 XXX provided an entertaining experience on multiple levels that served the company well so check it out. The high definition version enhanced the visual elements more than anything else but the price was also increased as a result so this might be a better one to check out if you already have the SD version.
