The Movie:

Celeste puts Riley Steele in the spotlight for this latest Scream entry and you can't blame Digital Playground for wanting to cash in on this gorgeous young woman's rising star. Those familiar with the Scream series so far will know what to expect but for those who haven't checked on out yet, well, they're basically XXX homages to old horror films. The plots, as minimal as they are, string the longish sex scenes together and give it all some context and they tend to feel like old exploitation movies in terms of tone and style - or at least they try to. Sometimes the results are mixed. Regardless, the sex is always interesting and the girls are always nicely shot.

That said, you're not watching this for the story (which is good because it's skimpier than some of the outfits the girls in this movie wear), you're watching it for the girls, likely for Riley Steele (or Stoya, or Alexis Texas) specifically So without further ado, let's cut to the chase...

There's some good humor here, a couple of fun scares, and plenty of steamy hardcore action all presented overtop of the kind of classy production values you'd expect from a top tier Digital Playground production.

Riley Steele: Scream looks excellent in this 1080p AVC 1.85.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. There's an insane amount of detail present not only on the performers but also in the sets and backgrounds/sets used in the production. There aren't any issues at all with compression artifacts or edge enhancement while color reproduction and skin tones look excellent throughout. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot just a hint of shimmer here and there but you do have to be looking for it to notice it. Unlike some of the other entries in the Scream series, this one doesn't use the annoying 'faux film' filter to make it look like a seventies grindhouse movie. That's not a bad thing, mind you, as it didn't really work all that well when it was used so seeing it omitted this time around is a plus.

Sound:

The sole audio track on this Blu-ray release is a 48 kHz 448 kbps Dolby Digital 5.0 Surround Sound mix in English. The audio on this release is fine but it isn't as impressive as the transfer is. Dialogue stays clean and clear throughout and the levels are all properly balanced. The score sounds good and there aren't any problems with background hiss or distortion at all. The audio here won't blow you away but it certainly won't disappoint you either.

Extras:

First up going in order of the menu is a Photo Gallery that features dozens of shots of the performers involved in hardcore action from the feature film as well as some tantalizing tease/glamour shots as well. Digital Playground has also included a trailer gallery featuring promo spots for Pirates, Pirates II, Nurses, Jack's Teen America Mission 3, Babysitters, Island Fever 4 and Cheerleaders. The trailers are all presented in HD and in 5.1 or 5.0 Surround Sound, which is a nice touch.

From there, check out the ten minute Behind The Scenes featurette, presented in HD with a nice Dolby Digital 5.0 Surround Sound mix. This featurette contains some fly on the wall behind the scenes footage of the performers doing their thing as well as some candid interview footage. It isn't deep, but its moderately amusing. Motion menus, Digital Playground contact info, and scene selection round out the supplements on this release.

Final Thoughts:

Riley Steele: Scream is definitely worth a look thanks to its nice mix of sex, scares and fun. The girls are all very sexy, each one giving her all, and the chemistry shown in the five scenes adds to the heat. Digital Playground's Blu-ray release looks quite good and while the extras are mediocre, this release comes recommended.
