Audio/Video Quality: Girls of Red Light District: Alexis Texas was presented in 1.33:1 ratio full frame by Red Light District using a variety of directors who shot the scenes for their original releases. The lighting was almost always strong and the cameras capably manned, some compositional mishaps and minor grain appearing at times. There were a lot of close up shots in the various scenes, almost as if it were a required selling point the editors were told to leave in, the video bitrate hovering in the 2.8 Mbps range using the usual MPEG-2 codec for this standard definition compilation of previously released scenes. The fleshtones were generally accurate and while there was still a need for polishing up most of the scenes, the overall look of them was pretty decent. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English, the 192 Kbps aural bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate about average for an adult production. I could most of the vocals and the music was rarely a factor here, the experience not elevating the visual aspects particularly well but serving much like most gonzo productions expect the audio too in providing an array of loud screams and moans (with some dirty talk).

Body of Review: Red Light District was founded years ago by a handful of performer-turned-directors when they obtained financing to start a new type of gonzo production company, catering specifically to the rain coater crowd with a lot of straightforward smut one could appreciate. Along the way, there were some bumps in the road and the inevitable decline noticed by many but ultimately, they still shoot some solid smut and are now offering a series of compilations to help pay the bills. The first of these coming my ways was Girls of Red Light District: Alexis Texas, a series of six scenes lasting almost three hours starring curvy Texan hotty Alexis Texas, was provided. As one of the curviest ladies in porn, Alexis certainly thrills her fans even after many performances thanks to her attitude as much as that fine ass and rack of hers. In that sense, I really enjoyed the show despite whatever technical limitations some scenes had but the lack of where the scenes came from on the cover or company website weakened it for me as a consumer advocate (after all, if you knew you already had the scenes, you might not buy it but we all like to know, yes?). In any case, I've seen a few compilations starring Alexis Texas over the last few years and she has earned every single one of them but as some of them provide nearly twice as much material for the same lower price, I felt obligated to rate this one as Recommended rather than as highly as it could have been with the addition of new material, some extras, or even maybe an introduction by the lady describing anecdotes for the scenes. In short, Girls of Red Light District: Alexis Texas shows that the company is exploring all options in order to compete against rivals these days, the focal point of using their best talent certainly a time tested one that I couldn't argue with so check this one out.
