Extras: The extras started off with a 5:27 minute long Behind the Scenes feature where Keisha was given a red velvet cake to celebrate her 21st birthday, moving to show AJ and Abella get frisky with Alexis, then finishing up with Anikka’s antics before some booty tease with Keisha. There was then a 14:57 minute long set of interviews by Alexis with Abella Danger, AJ Applegate, and Anikka Albrite called “Texas Cam”, a photogallery, some trailers, and web info.

Audio/Video Quality: Big Booty Tryouts was presented in anamorphic widescreen as directed by Alexis Texas for Elegant Angel. The camera work was handled by Derek Dozer as “Dreadneck” and Craig Daze handled editing and other post production tasks to enhance the look of the production, the rich flesh tones not hampered like other productions I’ve watched of late. The lighting was a good balance here with enough to light things up and provide detail without washing out the cast, the picture typically clear enough to see the fine hairs on the legs of the ladies under the sun, a fair amount of the action taking place in the house where things looked pretty solid too. The bitrate was high enough to minimize some of the resulting compression artifacts observed on my big screen television and there was no company watermark. The aural components were handled in stereo English using the AC3 codec and a 192 Kbps audio bitrate, the sampling rate of 48 kHz sufficient for the generic but limited music and the otherwise clear vocals. some whispered comments heard at times but no obvious dubbing.

Body of Review: Alexis Texas has been a popular performer for years in porn, her glorious ass becoming something of a cottage industry for others to follow, the gal now working for Elegant Angel as a performer and director. The first movie she is being credited as directing is called Big Booty Tryouts, a set of four scenes starring some of my favorite bootilicious ladies including AJ Applegate, Abella Danger, Anikka Albrite, Dani Daniels, and Keisha Grey along with Alexis. While Alexis had a minimal role in the final scene, she was prominently featured in the other three, two of them lesbian scenes. Given the limited amount of BTS footage, there was really no way I could judge if this was another case of the credited director having a significant role in making directorial decisions or if it was a marketing gimmick but it did look pretty solid courtesy of Derek Dozer’s participation on camera and Craig Daze in post production. The company website described the movie like this: “Elegant Angel presents Big Booty Tryouts featuring Alexis Texas' directorial debut and her 1st few scenes in her porn comeback!! This movie has it all Anal, Girl Girl, 3 ways and most of all Alexis Texas!! BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY starring the biggest, best & hottest asses in porn today! An amazing All star cast including Anikka Albrite, Dani Daniels, AJ Applegate, Keisha Grey, Abella Danger and of course Alexis Texas!! Enjoy!” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Alexis Texas, the popular blond bombshell who has been hitting the strip club circuit hard in recent years, was up first with curvy 21 year old Keisha Grey in a scene shot in June. In short, Big Booty Tryouts may not prove Alexis Texas played an active role as director but it turned out quite well, the plethora of booty babes on display as fine as you could expect so check it out and see what the buzz is about.
