Audio/Video Quality: Best of Girlvana was presented in the same anamorphic widescreen the scenes were shot in over the years by talented director Mike Quasar for Zero Tolerance. Given the years between some of the scenes, the technical matters varied a bit but the lighting and camera work was always well done, the editing polishing up the footage nicely in most cases though some scenes were clearly better than others. The aural components of the scenes were likewise similar, the monaural natural of the vocals and music not harming the end result for the most part even if it limited the sound somewhat compared to higher end products.

Body of Review: Mike Quasar has long been one of the most talented gonzo directors in porn, his wealth of titles for Zero Tolerance showcasing just how well a sexual web he can weave if given the right cast of lovely ladies. His latest title coming my way is the double disc Best of Girlvana, the compilation taking most scenes from volumes 2, 3, and 4 of the popular series of lesbian outings. The plethora of pussy and ass here was so varied that I’d rather you just read the scene descriptions for details, the lack of men and ball batter not harming the strokability factor at all for me as the ladies all seemed into each other. With over 6 hours of lesbian fuck for the buck, I knew I would like this one but I had seen all of it before you your mileage may vary. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Girlvana 4: Aubrey Addams, Karlie Montana, Tori Black, and Crissy Moon, were up last on the first disc, in a veritable lesbian orgy where the four where watched by some of their classmates by the admittedly silly placement of the lights used to illuminate the porn scene in the rumpus room (the pool table and couch providing the perfect location for any sexual trysts that might just happen spontaneously). Aubrey was the focal point of attention early on, her initiation into the group especially warm as she was made to lick Karlie and then the others. Aubrey was tiny compared to them and her round rump was delicious as the packs of hotties were still in their sexy lingerie. The Truth or Dare contest soon devolved into a Dare contest since "we're all going to lie anyway" and while no toys came into play, this one also seemed a naturally appealing bit of work thanks to the oral and caressing nature of the ladies, not forced to do anything they weren't into. I would have enjoyed seeing the background gals join in and a bit more enthusiastic passion deployed but like the previous scene, it was a pretty nice bit of work with serious replay value if you aren't into lesbian extreme queens putting on a show.

Scene Two: Girlvana 2: Katja Kassin, now sporting dark hair (kneeling on the front DVD cover near the middle), and contract hotty Courtney Cummz, were up as the first scene from the second disc that was advertised as being full of bad girls. The primary difference this time was that the gals used toys, seemed a bit more demanding of one another, and showed a lot more passion as they carried out the same scenarios established on the first disc (this scene mimicking scene one for example). I thought that this was a clever idea; allowing for fans of differing types of action to get what they want in the same set. I know I prefer to see the harder action of the bad gals going at it most of the time but the lighter touch of the initial four scenes was also a nice change of pace. Getting both dynamics in a single set allows a fan to have his cake and eat it too (or in this case, pie). The foot fetish angle was more thoroughly explored this time and the hot tub seemed to be the ideal place for the two to play once they were out of the store. There was slapping, spanking, and toys used to liven things up; this time lasting longer as the gals did a lot more. In any case, this was one fine scene with two of the most attractive, talented ladies of porn so whether you beg, borrow, or otherwise obtain a copy, make sure you check this one out repeatedly.

Scene Three: Girlvana 1: Angel Cassidy, Jenna Haze: Angel Cassidy, a slutty blond with pretty eyes, was up next with sexy Jenna Haze, the ladies getting busy in a bathroom stall after warming up on the dance floor (off camera). That led to an orgy scene where the ladies paired up into small groups, coming and going as they saw fit to satiate each other with the same emphasis on oral loving. They did use fingers and got slightly heated at times in the sense of poking and prodding; rimming and face sitting getting some attention along the way. Each separate segment of this first disc lent itself to the classic approach of lesbian sex though which was more about sensual delights than aggressive pushing of limits by the ladies. My biggest issue with this section was the concept of blonds though since a good number of the ladies were far from blond, even discounting the bleached blonds that many of us enjoy watching.

Scene Seven: Girlvana 4: Sasha Grey (first brunette sitting down on the cover's left side) and Anabelle Lee were up next having discussed the way things worked regarding the upcoming test. Sasha is renowned for her work with cock more than her intimate pairings with other women so I was curious to see how she would fare here as the ladies made out on the couch. The bedroom antics were such that the scene proved to be nearly equal to the Katja/Courtney scene in terms of dirty fun but the editing seemed slightly looser (almost freehand) this time to me and that altered the passion ever so slightly. Alexis was the new gal, much like Aubrey was in the first disc, but she was more up to the challenge of her rivals as she embraced their slightly rough treatment. Aiden was in charge of the scene most of the time, tossing larger Alexis about as Renae honed in to get some action on the periphery, the kissing, spanking, and fingering all providing a major upgrade from the previous scene. Especially heated was the face sitting by Alexis on Aiden but all the rimming added stroke value for me and each contributed to the fun that was displayed. Penny and Sativa were the aces this time but Dee was looking surprisingly fit given her age with the scenario moving to a more intimate setting before too long. Penny was initially a receiver but that didn't remain the case as Sativa warmed her up with some help from Dee. Summary: Best of Girlvana by director Mike Quasar for Zero Tolerance had no new material but it did encapsulate some of the better scenes from the series past, the majority of footage coming from volumes 2, 3, and 4 with a single scene from the initial volume and nothing from the last volume (#5). As a result, this was a veritable who’s who of lesbian sex over the last seven years, the sheer quantity of lesbian action making this worthy of a Recommended rating, my preference for at least something new tossed in holding back a higher score. In short then, Best of Girlvana might not contain all the very best scenes from the first four volumes of the series but I’d be hard pressed to come up with any scenes missing that I would add without at least some research so give this one a look.
