Synopsis

Although it does not include extensive dialog or extensive interaction between the performers in the scenes, there is a definite theme to the movie. In addition, Steven St. Croix is involved in every scene, either as part of the set-up or as a participant. Strictly speaking, however, Sheer Desires is really a wall-to-wall sex movie.

Sheer Desires was directed by veteran male porn performer Randy Spears. Randy did a superb job in terms of production values. First, and most importantly, all the girls are absolutely gorgeous! Sometimes porn chicks don't shave their pubic areas, have pimple-covered asses, or don't have their nails done. Not so in Sheer Desires. Every woman is fantasy-perfect!

In addition, Randy took great care to choose absolutely sumptuous locations and sets for every scene. Talk about beautiful places to fuck! Even the bathroom set in Scene Two is elegant! In addition, Randy carefully selected wardrobe for both the women and the men. Of course, the womens' stockings alone will make your blood boil. But...and this is what's extraordinary...the guys are nicely attired, too. No raggedy jeans or ugly T-shirts! I must also applaud the make-up artist Randy chose for the shoot. Perfect!

Randy's attention to detail is also evident in the wide-screen camerawork (every shot is very sensuous and the close-ups and camera angles are superb), the music (different--and very well selected--music accompanies each scene), and editing (no trite swipes...the edits are smooth and soft dissolves). Randy even used a smoke machine in Scene Five to make the setting appear more "dreamy" (it's a dream sequence).

Overall, Sheer Desires is a beautiful piece of work. It is definitely suited to couples viewing. Obviously, the movie is also appropriate for those who enjoy pretty stocking-clad legs and feet!

By way of constructive criticism, I do think that the scenes are a bit short. Perhaps it's because I've been reviewing longer gonzo scenes lately. But, five scenes in 90 minutes average 18 minutes per scene. I don't think that most of the scenes extended long enough to capture all the nuances I like to see in sex scenes. For example, Scene Two, featuring 2008 Dr. Jay's Must-See Girl Alexis Love, only includes two sexual positions. Likewise, all-important cunnilingus is absent in Scene One. Adding five minutes to each scene would have improved them greatly, I think...provided, of course, that the time were used effectively and sexually.

On the positive side, I really appreciate the fact that every girl came at least once during her scene. I hate it when girls don't get to experience the same degree of pleasure as the guys.
