Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.33:1 ratio full frame, as they were originally recorded. The scenes here were mostly ten or more years old and the weaknesses of the source material were quite apparent. There was a lot of grain, color bleeding, and assorted other problems but a few scenes looked pretty good and you'll find no better versions of any of them. The audio was presented in stereo with minimal separation but were generally clear if nothing exceptionally solid.

Body of Review: Christy Canyon, the large breasted porn star who started her career in the 1980's, has made a few comebacks over the years, the ability of her to be able to do so is directly related to how hugely popular she was years ago. Much of the material she was in is not available on dvd at this time but Vivid has made several compilations of her work for them. In the latest such compilation, Hollywood Orgies: Christy Canyon, Vivid puts 10 of her scenes together with an emphasis on group gropes. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by title, director, and cast:

Scene One: Passages 2: D-Paul Thomas: Christy, Heather, Candace, and Peter had a scene on some stairs in a darkly lit room. Not Christy's best scene as she was looking a bit too curvy at this time. Fair.

Scene Two: Pretty In Peach: D-Jane Waters: Christy, Tianna, and Randy had a scene outdoors on a blanket in the woods. Not a bad scene but it's age and technical problems hurt it.

Scene Three: The Show: D-Paul Thomas: Christy, Steven, Tony and Vince had a scene that spoofed The Tonight Show. It was pretty good but more of a gang bang than an orgy.

Scene Four: Where The Boys Aren't 6: D-Ernest Greene: Christy, Amber, Janine, Jeanna, and Sarah

Scene Five: Passages 4: D-Paul Thomas: Christy, Jennifer, PJ, and Peter had something of a reverse gangbang on a couch. The technical problems of this one also hampered it a bit but the sex was fun to watch and warm.

Scene Six: Racquel In The Wild: D-Paul Thomas: Christy, Racquel, Derrick, and Jon had a scene in an open field, on a bench. The gals started it off with some lesbian action before the guys joined in. A fairly short scene, it really didn't work for me much although it picked up near the end.

Scene Seven: Where The Boys Aren't 9: D-Brad Armstrong: Christy, Alexis, Janine, Dyanna, Nikki, Chasey, and Jenteal all had a scene by an open campfire while dressed in harem dancer outfits. Very warm scene.

Scene Eight: Portrait Of Christy: D-Paul Thomas: Christy, TT and Peter had a scene in a commercial kitchen on the counter. She was the sexual aggressor here and it worked for me.

Scene Nine: Twisted: D-Paul Thomas: Christy, TT and Joey had a scene on a couch. Not their best work with minimal heat for me.

Scene Ten: Sex 2: D-Paul Thomas: Christy, Nikki D., Crystal, and Mike had a very long scene on a couch and in a kitchen and bed (heck, all over the house). The cast wasn't exactly top notch but they did have some fun and warmth for this reviewer. Not bad.

Summary: If you're a fan of Christy's, there might be a few better compilations with her in them but none that have all her group scenes for Vivid like this one does. I'm rating this as a Rent It due to the technical limitations but fans of hers will likely rate it higher. It had some solid entertaining moments for your pleasure but most of that will depend on your desire to watch this gal at work.
