Jonathan Morgan had the right idea when making The Morgan Sex Project, but I'm guessing the final product didn't turn out to be as good as he thought it would be going in.

Taking a cue from The Blair Witch Project, Morgan gathers up fellow performers Alexa Rae, T.J. Hart, Leanni Lei, Brad Armstrong and Ian Daniels and heads off in an RV to Big Bear, California, where they have rented a cabin for the weekend. Most of the sex footage in the film actually takes place inside the RV along the way – but we really don't get full-blown sex scenes…it's more along the lines of a little blowjob action here, a little fucking there, and an occasional cumshot.

Like someone's home movies, this is one of those titles that is probably incredibly fun to watch for those that participated in it, but the enthusiasm doesn't quite transfer to the home viewer. The biggest question that lay in my mind as this troop of adult performers made their way to Big Bear was not who would be getting fucked along the way, but how long the rest of them could put up with Jonathan Morgan's wisecracking before throwing him out of the RV, or possibly dragging his lifeless body out into the woods for disposal!

The best part of Sex Project occurs when the group finally spends a night at the cabin and decide to roll dice to see who will get to do what sexual act with whom. This eventually turns into a mini-orgy with everyone involved, and although the camerawork isn't fantastic, this does mark the high point of the DVD.

Jonathan does make the comment that there are far more tourists at Big Bear than he expected, and that may be why we only get a little sex footage that actually takes place out in the wilderness. I'm assuming Morgan wanted to do something a little more Blair Witch-like than what we get here…which really isn't all that different from a typical Shane's World title – which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

While I didn't love The Morgan Sex Project, it was still quite watchable. I especially enjoyed watching all the material with Alexa Rae (who was only 19 when this was filmed in 1999), who is by far the sexiest woman on this disc.

Wicked has also added some appeal to this release by providing both a feature length commentary track with Jonathan Morgan and a behind the scenes featurette. Both the video and audio are also top-notch, so while the movie itself (which is more gonzo than it is a feature spoof) may not completely live up to expectations, Wicked still has gone all-out to try and provide a DVD that viewers will enjoy.
