Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.33:1 ratio full frame color. Like in Volume 22, the movie started off with a warning about below average technical matters due to the footage being shot in less than favorable conditions. If it had been posted on the DVD case, I'd have even given them credit for truth in advertising. In any case, the show was full frame and the technical matters varied a lot. Much of the footage was older and taken with crummy equipment with low lighting. I think it was important to release, given the historical significance of the material but keep in mind that the grain, colors, and other problems were far below what I've come to expect from Private. The sound varied as much with some really weak dubbing but the English subtitles were very clear and added later.

Body of Review: The Private Casting series is something of a
casting
couch where Pierre would interview a gal and sometimes do her. The interview
format allows a viewer to learn something about the women before the world of porn jaded them. There are subtitles that show most of what's said and then the gals are shown in behind the scenes action on photoshoots and movies. In Private Castings 24, we get another batch of gals, most of whom went to work for Private afterwards. Here's a breakdown of the scenes:

Scene One: Brenda Logan: Interview from 6/1997, Backstage from Sex 24 Magazine photoshoot and Private 160 Magazine photoshoot. She was a great looking blonde with a really nice set of full lips. In the photoshoots, she did anal and DP's like nobody's business. Yum!

Scene Two: Janet: Interview from 3/1998 and Backstage from The Collector. Pierre spoke to her as Martina and she admitted to being 25 years old (but she looked younger). She looked better on the behind the scenes feature (all made up) than she did during the interview. It wasn't bad but the wind noise was a pain in the rear.

Scene Three: Caroline: Interview from 4/1996 and Backstage from Tatiana 2. She called herself Cataline and admitted to being 22 years old although she looked closer to someone in her late 20's. Her eyes were very pretty and her body very lean for those who care but the scene was limited.

Scene Four: Izabella Vusaci: Interview from 7/1996 and the Backstages from Private 151, 154, and 155 Photoshoots. She claimed to be 18 years old, nearly 19 years old, during the interview but I wouldn't have carded her at a bar (and wouldn't have done so for several years if you catch my drift). She actually had the best scenes in the movie but since they were photoshoots, the action was always getting interrupted.

Scene Five: Alexa: The interview was from 2/2000 and included Pierre initiating her in the ways of videotaped sex. Her listed name was Cristina and titled as Alexia with her claiming to be 18 years old. She looked about 21 with some facial blemishes but some of the clearest blue eyes I've seen in a long time too. Her all-natural body was begging to be done so I can see why Pierre went and got him some. Her expressive range left something to be desired though and as much fun as she'd have been to have sex with in person, she was barely warm to watch with hairy old ex-cop Woodman. Check her out in the Riviera Trilogy is you get the chance.

Summary: I found this volume fairly interesting although it contained perhaps the least amount of sex in any of the volumes released to date. If you'd like to get a fascinating look at adult performers before they become so insulated by the ins and outs of what amounts to a "system" where they find it makes more sense to hide themselves, this might be a good start but if you're looking for sexual activity, be forewarned that there simply wasn't much here. I'm rating it as a Rent It for those who might want to see behind the scenes interviews BEFORE the gals get into the business but most will want to pass it up.
