Audio/Video Quality: Summer School Sex Kittens was presented in the originally filmed 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Jim Holliday for VCA Pictures back in July of 2004 concurrently with Spring Break Sex Kittens; the last two movies shot by the director before his untimely passing later that year. The credits even listed Felecia as the producer again, probably because Jim's failing health kept him from having as active a hand in finishing up the movie as most of his previous works. The picture was crystal clear and had a wonderfully diverse cast as seen on the front DVD cover. The fleshtones were accurate thanks in large part to the flat and plentiful lighting, eliminating grain and other visual defects in a manner I wish contemporary companies would at least consider. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English with the vocals captured fairly well despite a huge problem with wind noise and the music still a cut above the pack as far as I was concerned. The music was trademark Jim Holliday style with Jan & Darryl and the Steamrollers; seemingly using older bits from the vaults. There was the normal range of music here for those who care but the movie seemed to be finished up without as close supervision as Jim typically provided for the obvious reason (it came out after his passing as well).

Body of Review: Jim Holliday ended his all too short time on this mortal coil by making porn for VCA Pictures. As far as making a living is concerned, there are far worse jobs and Jim tried his hand at a score of them; enjoying the time he spent on set with his "angels" as he called the ladies. By the time the summer of 2004 rolled around, his health problems had taken a huge toll on the man, limiting the amount of time he would go out in public or even be seen in his own movies. The last movie he had an active role in shooting is reportedly Summer School Sex Kittens, made on the same day as Spring Break Sex Kittens to be released posthumously the following year. The movie had the usual type of silly, near nonsensical plot with bits of dialogue tossed in for obscurity purposes, this time the shoot cut short for a variety of reasons, including weather and health, resulting in two very strange, incomplete movies. Still, any fan of the legend would probably want to at least see what came out of the shoot, even if Jim was not around to properly work on it in post production. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Katie Gold, the blonde pointing the sword on the front cover at Tanya Danielle (Katie was the second gal from the left had side standing up), and Steve Hatcher were up first after a brief recap of what took place in Spring Break Sex Kittens. They did some brief oral on each other and boned in doggy before he busted a nut on her face. To me, the scene was so short that I was sure something happened to the footage, going back to some naked croquette material as seen in the other movie); all of it having the wind problem.

Scene Two: August, the second gal from the left hand side on the bottom, was up next in bed with Tyler Wood. The good news was that the wind noise issue was solved but the bad news is that the scene seemed to be shot on a different date by someone other than Jim's crew. The oral and vaginal sex was also tame here, though as cute as she was back then, the introduction of the anal plug wasn't a bad idea. Despite his name, he had wood problems and she was largely passive except for overdoing the vocals, making the scene a weaker one to watch, ending with a facial.

Scene Three: Katie Gold, all made up and in the barn, was up next with Alex Sanders. He snacked on her crack and she seemed to enjoy it, her looking as uncomfortable as possible as she tried to squirm her way onto the small blanket. She blew him fairly well and rode his cock vaginally and anally with some spark of energy, even if only doing so briefly before the wad of population pudding struck her face.

Scene Four: Katie Morgan (far left, standing up), Tanya Danielle (in the center wearing the white see through lingerie), and Shayla LaVeaux (the older gal crouched down on the far right side underneath Olivia's mace), were up next in a windy lesbian scene in the desert on a blanket. Their perfect puckers were squeaky clean and got a lot of attention, as did their cookies but it seemed rushed, almost as if they were racing a sandstorm. The emphasis was on lesbian licking the entire time, ending too soon.

Scene Five: Shayla LaVeaux, in a pink dress at night on the windy set outside, was up next with old man Jay Crew. He ate her ass and she gyrated in approval, moving quickly to the active penetration sequence where she impaled herself on his cock. I loved her tan line and just wish she had shown some more chemistry with him in the scene before the facial.

Scene Six: Madison Sins, the gal on the lower right side of the front cover with the extensive belly tattoos, was up next in a solo scene as she used a large toy to diddle herself while the other women watched and gave encouragement.

Scene Seven: Brittney Skye, Kylie Wilde, Brooklyn Holiday, Samantha Slater, and Tanya Danielle, were up last in a lesbian scene outside in a partially shaded area near the trees. The wind didn't bug me so much as the limitations of the scene but if you enjoy rug munching as much as I do, you'll find they were not all that bad at their preferred activity. It was oral only for those who care.

Summary: Summer School Sex Kittens by director Jim Holliday for VCA Pictures was one of the weakest movies I had seen by the late director, largely due to the way his participation was limited and how the movie was cut short in the production stage. The results show throughout the fuck flick and while I have long been a fan of his, Summer School Sex Kittens was more of an incomplete work in progress than a true final movie. I'm going to rate it as a Skip It since it had so many flaws and was missing most of the advertised extras (there was no BTS and none of the 2.5 hours of deleted footage on the DVD) but I'll still remember the director fondly for all the good times his other works offered. A more fitting tribute to him would have been to have some great extras hosted by the ladies he called his angels paying tribute to the man but given the economic pressures of the industry, I can see why this never happened. Hopefully, he's in a better place these days, trying to boss around a whole new kind of angel in the process. Farewell Jim!
