Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.33:1 ratio full frame color. For the most part, it looked very crisp and clear with only minimal grain and no artifacts (motion or compression). While the lighting wasn't great, it was better than the other two releases I've seen from Outback this week and it's only fair to point out the good times as well as the bad times. The audio was presented in stereo PCM English. For those who are familiar with pulse code modulated audio, there's no need to explain how much worse it is compared to Dolby Digital. For those who are uninitiated, the audio was poor in almost every case. Many times, the performers would be speaking and you could barely, and I mean JUST barely, make out that they were talking. The music was mixed way too loud compared to the vocals and this is hopefully the next area that Outback/Don Goo will be working on.

Body of Review: Small companies in the porn world are generally at a supreme disadvantage when trying to compete against the so-called "big boys" of porn. The bigger the company, the more favorable terms it can negotiate with both the supply end as well as with the buyers. That often leaves the smaller companies grasping for crumbs. One company has a new angle on this inequity, Don Goo. They either buy smaller companies or work out deals with such companies in order to take advantage of economies of scale. Whether good business sense will work in porn has yet to be seen but if anyone can make it happen, it's the boss over at Don Goo. But porn isn't just about good bookkeeping and business sense, it's also about hot women having great sex in front of a talented director. In fact, it's more about the latter group of conditions than the former, although both are important. In the latest release by Outback/Don Goo, One True Chance, the company shows us that they are picking up steam on the learning curve.

I'd like to tell you the feature was full of great acting and witty lines but the audio was messed up so fans of feature porn may want to use this as a karaoke DVD where they fill in the lines as the movie progresses without the sound on. I know it had something to do with a loser played by Steve (heh, that's a big leap of faith, yes?) who scores with a babe and gets ahold of some premium drugs to sell. During the deal to get some big bucks, a thug screws it all up and Steve loses it all. As lame as that sounds, the sex was better with a decent cast. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast, noting that most of the talent didn't use condoms and the heat was good considering the technical limitations present:

Scene One: Jasmine, a curvy blonde with large DSL's, took on Alex on a bed. The sex was energetic but the vocals were drowned out by the music track for the most part. This gave it the effect of a badly dubbed movie more often than not. Visually, this scene looked better than any of the others I've seen from Outback in the last week.

Scene Two: Harley, a large breasted gal with dark hair, took on Barrett on her bed after warming him up on a chair. The sex was only oral and straight, and I've never been a big fan of hers, but it wasn't bad. She's always reminded me of the former Metro contract performer Houston (no relation to me) and while I'm sure I've seen her in a few good scenes, this wasn't her best.

Scene Three: Sharon, a long-time performer in the industry, and Steve, had a scene in a bed. Her no-hands blowjob looked good and her playfulness was evident throughout the scene. Her eye contact also helped elevate the warmth a bit as it looked more like she cared than in far too many releases.

Scene Four: Temptation and Cherokee, two really attractive babes, had a lesbian scene together on a bed (well, it looked like a bed). I thought they were great together but the scene seemed way too short for me. There was a bit of toy usage but not much although I'd have volunteered to lick them clean.

Scene Five: Lezley, the brunette sexual dynamo, and Trevor, had a scene in an office together on a chair. I thought the two had some chemistry together and the sex was pretty warm with a bit of roughness to it.

Scene Six: Chloe, now sporting black hair and her usual trim body, and the massive Lee had a scene on a beaten up old couch. Her skills have always been keen and this scene was no exception with both of them enjoying the proceedings. He was the only guy here to wear a condom but it was barely visible (of course it could be that all the other condoms were truly invisible to my aging eyes but I don't think that's the case).

Summary: Since the sex was pretty solid, I'm going to rate this one as a Rent It even though I took issue with the problems on the audio track. I stand by my evaluation that the company will keep improving with time, it just needs to work on the basics first. I liked the cast enough and the sex had enough warmth for me to keep an eye out on the company and it's releases but only true fans will want to drop some dough on this one.
