Extra's: My favorite extra was the full length audio commentary by Jim Holliday and the legendary Selena Steele. Jim led in comments but Selena had a substantial presence here, with a lengthy career to draw upon as one of the gals in porn that stood the test of time. The 10 minute Behind the Scenes feature by Wit Maverick (shot for this one and Eternal Virgins at the same time with footage from both) was quite funny thanks in large part to the editing and the antics of Rob Spallone. The cast and crew had a lot of fun and it was evident from looking at Jim that his medical problems were catching up with him but I have to hand it to Wit and the folks at VCA for allowing some of the comments to make it into the feature. There were also some (4) minimal Star Bios, trailers for movies like Floss, Sorority Sex Kittens 3, Little Town Flirts, Eye Candy Refocused, Perfect Smiles, LA Fashion Girls, a photogallery, a bit on the multiple angles used, and a jump to the scene bit too.

Audio/Video Quality: Cheerleader Pink was presented in the originally filmed 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Jim Holliday for VCA Pictures back in February 2003 (filmed at the same time as Eternal Virgins with the assistance of "ramrod" Rob Spallone taking over from Evan Stone; the break between Jim and Evan hinted at in the commentaries of some of his contemporary releases of the time). The picture was crystal clear and had a wonderfully diverse cast as seen on the front DVD cover. The fleshtones were accurate thanks in large part to the flat and plentiful lighting, eliminating grain and other visual defects in a manner I wish contemporary companies would at least consider. This was one of the Holliday flicks where few budget considerations came into play, coming off as great looking if not the best the man had to offer at this stage in his career. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English with the vocals very solidly captured and the music still a cut above the pack as far as I was concerned. The music was trademark Jim Holliday style with Reno & the Rumrunners with the Ghosts of ZZYZX Rainwater Road Band (an insider joke by the way) on back up duties this time. There was the normal range of music here for those who care but the movie seemed to be more of an after thought or filler in between the other movie made at the same time.

Body of Review: Jim Holliday was known for the style he offered during his work for VCA Pictures, even when he made multiple movies at once in order to conserve funds (and put more women in the movies, even in non sex roles to flesh out the already great casts). In February of 2003, he shot Cheerleader Pink concurrently with Eternal Virgins, this time about a pro-athlete cheerleader squad owned by Selena Steele's character. The cover said it like this: "Way back in thei'80's it all began with Sorority Pink. More recently there was Think Pink (on the beach) and Melted Pink (in the high desert). Now...from the originator of the whole "perfect pink" concept comes Jim Holliday's Cheerleader Pink, with the largest cast of all -- two dozen babes. Professional cheerleaders for the North Fresno Bobcats squad need to undergo treatments known only as "tinker time". That's really all you need to know if you understand Holliday's formula for blistering explicit sex, provocative eye candy and minimal, but hip, dialogue..." If you like Holliday's movies, this was a sweet little movie made towards the end of his career. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used in all the scenes with men in them:

Scene One: Taylor Rain, a cute brunette in her feature porn debut, was up first as she took on Anthony Hardwood in bed. She gave some fine head but in an uncharacteristic move, the scene was split between the opening and the credits (a rarity in a Jim Holliday flick). Scene Two: Selena Steele, playing the matriarch of the squad and still looking great as a MILF character, wore black fishnets and matching bra as she took on Alex Sanders on the dark maroon couch. Jim wanted to use it in the movie so he had some dialogue to that effect but the important thing was that the slightly different feel to it that Jim described on the commentary was simply another set of hotties going at one another with vigor and enthusiasm. The pleasure they derived way back then will now live forever as the gals seemed to get off on the purple bedspread by pairing off and swapping partners a few times.

Summary: Cheerleader Pink by director Jim Holliday for VCA Pictures was another fun frolic in the world of "Jimmy Land" as Shayla always liked to put it, providing some fine and entertaining extras, good cast pairings, and a lot of fuck for the buck (especially now that VCA has greatly lowered the price to a mere pittance). It had some technical issues of minor proportion and I wished Taylor's second scene wasn't cut short so I lowered the rating to a Recommended but Cheerleader Pink had lots of cheerleader antics to enjoy and the usual cast of cuties Holliday employed were in fine form.
