Extra's: For me, the best extra was the 19 minute Behind the Scenes feature by Voodoo since it had interviews, extra nudity, some sex, and a couple of cute anecdotes by the cast & crew. It also helped to identify a few of them, making my work as a reviewer easier but I suggest that fans check it out for extra footage of the performers you like. There were also trailers, a photogallery, a true double sided DVD cover, and a cumshot recap.

Audio/Video Quality: Hookers was presented in a very fetching 1.85:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director DCypher for Sin City. He has shown a lot of skill lately in terms of providing a quality picture, this time doing an even better job than average with regard to lighting and compositional work of the cameras. The grain was minimal and some of the settings used were handled better than I would have expected as a result of the care used in terms of how things were done. The fleshtones were accurate; the editing pretty decent in terms of showing the footage at its best, and the overall visual experience was well handled. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English with minimal separation and the kind of dynamic range that tells me some corners were cut (a very common occurrence these days so this wasn't out of line with generally accepted practices). The vocals were okay and the music not a major factor for me as a rule of thumb.

Body of Review: DCypher is the nom de plume of an up & coming directorial genius according to the buzz generated by his recently acclaimed movies. While I wasn't as into the non-sex portions of a few of those titles, I saw a lot to like with solid potential well worth developing so I went out of my way to pick up a title of his released by Sin City called Hookers. The movie was a light feature using contract star Hannah Harper as an investigative reporter getting a little too into her work, providing what was almost a series of unrelated vignettes of sexual action. The cover put it like this: "Sin City exclusive Hannah Harper goes undercover as an investigative journalist to expose the dark and seedy underworld of illegal prostitution within L.A.'s high class escort services that cater to every twisted sexual fantasy of the rich and powerful. Using her prowess, she penetrates into the torrid lives of the cities most beautiful call girls. The late night blow jobs in the stretch limousines, the steaming hot lesbian encounters and the outrageous all night anal orgies begins to consume her, and she finds there is no escaping the tangled web of lust and perversion that has taken control of her and all her inhibitions, in this wild and sinful realm of the world's oldest profession." I would've liked to see the dialogue portions of the movie either excised or added to (to give them a purpose) but the sex included some very pleasing scenes with a cast of attractive gals. That said, here's a brief breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Penny Flame, wearing a hot pink mesh outfit over her bikini undies, started out by smoking as she gave pointers to Hannah in a dark alleyway while the two smoked cigarettes. She was her usual spaced out self as she pawed Joe Friday before slobbing his knob for a swell rate (bargain basement rates like that would have me lining up to tap her a couple of times a day). In any case, she deepthroated him and started aggressively inhaling all her had to offer before he returned the favor and worked on her cookie. This led to them vaginally screwing with her actively riding his meat pole as the two got sweaty. The standing doggy allowed her ass cheeks to ripple so very well and her dirty talk enhanced the moment for me. This was followed by her bouncing on his cock on top that allowed a similar view of her titties bouncing. The fact that she gyrated and ground her hips into him as she enjoyed the moment was a visual treat, leading to her taking his load into her mouth with some post coital sucking. It was a nice way to start the movie, the couple showing energy and passion to a degree I wasn't expecting (primarily because Joe isn't exactly known for his chemistry with the ladies).

Scene Two: Cassie Young, a lean blonde wearing a red crop top and black micro mini skirt, was up next at a massage parlor with muscular Billy Glide as her partner. She rubbed him the right way and he felt her up a little bit as well before she started blowing him. The oral was too short in my opinion but it showed a sense of playfulness that was better than the currently favored crop of newbies in porn that do everything without a lick of heat (pun intended). He ate her too but it was clear that as good as he was, the focus of the director was (wisely) on what she had to offer more than the reverse. She was moderately active when they bumped uglies vaginally, never getting a real chance to shine actively as Penny and some of the others had done. On a related note, she looked fitter and tanner than I've seen of late and that elevated the scene a bit for me; as did the way she continually treated him as though she really wanted him. The ending facial almost felt out of place as a result but while it wasn't an award winning scene, I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Scene Three: Hannah Harper, the hotty contract gal on the front DVD cover, extremely cute Alektra Blue, and very lean Nevaeh, were up next in a lesbian bash on a bed in a moderately lit bedroom. In terms of vocals, Nevaeh seemed to dominate but all three of them were active in orally pleasing the others so the balance of the scene wasn't too far off. The fingering was almost constant but I preferred the cool looking glass dildo working itself inside the walls of the pussy most of all. For me then, the gals heat ranged from warm to almost hot but it wavered more than a little bit as some of it seemed to be mechanical.

Scene Four: Harmony, a busty gal with a great ass and pretty face, was up next with Alex Gonz, Scotty Lyons, and a guy named (I'm not kidding, this was straight from his mouth in the BTS) "Swiss Balls". The energy levels were off the scale and as much as I like some of the others in the cast, there was no denying the quality of the passion this time. Performance or a gal actually into the sex, I couldn't say for sure since she always seems so spot on in her chosen career, but she didn't care about her make up running or anything except for enjoying the moment as Hannah watched her from nearby in the living room setting. The oral was great but then they started taking turns screwing her pussy and ass, with a decided emphasis on the ass. Fans of salad tossing will appreciate her oral skills there too but the active way she tore into their cocks with her ass was a sight to behold. I've never been a slavering fanboy of Harmony but she sure made this one come alive and if the other scenes were this good, I'd be handing out awards already. There was some more taste testing and they jazzed all over her to close it out; marking a solid scene for me. Whew!

Scene Five: Hailey Young, a very cute brunette with a flimsy negligee on, was up next with Hannah Harper as they worked over Jenner in a bed. Initially, Hailey was orally proving her worth to him as he instructed her on the finer points of what made him hot, but then she was cast aside to let Hannah engage in the penetrative sex. Okay, this was a different approach in a porn scene; the gals splitting up the duties of oral and screwing, with my casual observation that Hannah was far better at taking a cock in her pussy and ass then her mouth. She was not as aggressive about riding cock as a few of the others but she was good at portraying a cock socket, especially during the anal before the facial finish. Her fans will like the scene a lot and even I found it pretty good but there appeared to be something else going on that I couldn't pinpoint as lowering the passion, heat, and ultimately, chemistry between the pair.

Summary: Hookers might not be the major award winner to open up new doors for director DCypher but it provided more than a little evidence that he's not just making artistic porn these days. I liked the scene with Harmony the best and Penny was as hot as I remember with the others providing a range of experiences that will vary according to your tastes. In general, I thought Hookers was worth a rating of Rent It or maybe a qualified recommended depending on what you're looking for with some solid technical values, a fun BTS extra, and a cast of lovely ladies that most men would love to bone until they drained their balls dry.
