Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color. While there were issues with lighting that caused some major grain at times, the majority of the movie looked fair. I didn't see any compression artifacts or other problems with the picture except for some of the camera work appeared to be jumpy (as in "handheld") and the poor lighting. The audio was presented in Dolby Digital stereo English. The vocal track was generally clear but the music track was not the best. For the most part, the music track was generic porn but there was some separation between the channels this time. If the separation didn't kick in and out on a routine basis, I'd have liked it better.

Body of Review: Have you ever had that feeling that you've watched a movie before? Well, I have and most of the time it's because porn tends to use the same ideas over and over again; not to get an idea right, but to save movie on screenplays and churn them out on an assembly line. This isn't always a bad thing because if we get to see our favorite stars doing our favorite types of sex acts, the settings are almost a moot point. On the other hand, if a cast of mostly second-stringers is going through the motions, it becomes evident really quickly and that makes it tedious to watch. Such is the case with VCA's latest release, Tryst Of Fate; a movie centering on a group of criminals caught in a time loop, doomed to repeat the events of a night over and over, until they change their paths consciously (with mixed results). Even though this one was generic porn at its least interesting, here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast (noting that the cast identifications were interestingly generic as well):

Scene One: Charlie, in the lingerie warehouse at night, warmed up Sergio by kissing one of her female pals. He responded well and gave her some oral attention to show his gratitude. She blew him in return and then they had intercourse, including vaginal at first but then they moved onto anal sex. I think she's an attractive gal with beautiful eyes but in the missionary anal portion of the scene, you could see some major stretch marks (which are okay if you're making love to your significant other but for a porn star?!?). The scene wasn't bad but the vision of her legs keeps coming to mind. It ended with a mouthful of semen.

Scene Two: Amber, a blonde with girl-next-door looks and a curvy body, took care of pervert Alec who went right to licking her shoes and feet. He traded in the footwear for a lickfest to her crotch and soon they were in a 69 position. The rest of the scene included straight sex with a pop shot to her abdomen but it was really weak in most ways. By this point in the movie, I figured that whoever the real director was, it wasn't Wit (who has proven his talent numerous times in the past) and if anything, he must've taken over after much of the directing work was done.

Scene Three: Nicolette and Rhiannon were up next in a lesbian scene in front of the others. It was mostly oral although some toys, including a cool glass dildo, were used and the 69 position looked pretty good. It was okay in terms of sexual heat but not as good as expected.

Scene Four: Chase, winner of my goofiest name of the year award, and Harley, winner of my "most likely to be sued over her stage name award, had a scene together with Benjamin in the warehouse. The scene included oral and straight with no heat or chemistry at all. Pass!

Scene Five: Josie, Nick, and Jonathan had a scene in the warehouse at night. I hated her tattoos and implants (scars turn me off) but she seemed good enough in terms of creating sexual tension. The scene included oral, straight and anal with a DP before the double facial. It wasn't a bad scene but looked rushed at times.

Scene Six: Nicolette, the lead of the movie with the sleek, curvy body and sultry eyes, took care of Nick under the bright lights of the designing table. Her oral attention to him was markedly better than the previous action in the movie and the straight sex wasn't too bad either. He finished it off by popping on her body in a pretty decent scene.

Summary: I really think something happened to this one before it ever hit the editing bay at VCA. There were a number of issues that VCA is not known for and most of them revolved around quality control matters. Further, the scenes often appeared to be rushed and not recorded in the usual Wit Maverick manner. On top of that, the ending credits mentioned Henri Pachard being in charge of the Behind the Scenes feature yet one isn't present on the DVD. I'm going to rate this as a Skip It unless you're a huge fan of the cast and/or find it on sale for a really low price. VCA makes too many solid features to waste money on the occasional dud.
