Extra's: The best extra was the 11.5 minute long Behind the scenes feature. It wasn't the best I've seen, even recently, but it was a step up from some of the previous Real College Girl releases I've watched. There was also a cast list, some trailers, a photogalley and some spam to add value to the show for the consumer.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as expected. The picture looked surprisingly weak this time with all kinds of color problems, grain, artifacts, and cameraman issues, something I didn't expect of a Hustler release. The audio was weak too with the sex taking place in hotel/motel rooms but the vocals usually clipped off in favor of lame music.

Body of Review: Hustler makes a lot of porn these days, making the move from magazine to video over the last several years and much of the time, they do a decent job. Most of their series focus on one niche or another, giving an audience something they are specifically looking for, like large breasts, anal sex, or even youthful performers. One series that has gotten a lot of attention has been their Real College Girls series that showcase gals going to college performing on camera. In their latest volume, Real College Girls 12, Hustler takes a different approach by making it seem more underground (ie: bad lighting and sound) in hopes of restoring the raw nature of porn to the show. I didn't really enjoy this one all that much but here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast for those who might:

Scene One: University of Nevada: Las Vegas: Britney, a busty blonde studying kinesiology (the study of movement, primarily relating to sports medicine and rehab) was interviewed by Lily before taking on Alex and Brian in a hotel room. She did oral, straight and anal with a DP like a champ but the camera angles and technical values stunk, making me wonder where the lighting guy was, the audio guy and anyone except the true cameraman (Lily took her top off and shot on the bed but that footage wasn't in the scene). The audio was limited to a lame music track with the vocals apparently messed up, although I could hear Lily barking orders in the background.

Scene Two: University of California: Los Angles: Mina, a homely Asian gal with a bad attitude, answered Lily's questions with a blindingly naïve viewpoint that made me laugh out loud before she took on Burke and Skip in a hotel room on the couch. The sex was tame and included oral with straight only but fans of fresh talent will appreciate that she was seen here first.

Scene Three: Elsinore High School: Kavin, an average looking brunette, claimed that she wanted to be a veterinarian although she didn't actually provide a college ID here. Her partners were Robie and Alec, a couple of wacky guys to say the least. She claimed her agent got her the gig and that she's been making porn for a few months so she came off as more of a professional than the others here. The scene was ordinary in most respects with oral and straight sex on a bed in a motel.

Scene Four: Alemany High School: Lisa, an attractive gal (finally!) who was displayed on the front DVD cover, claimed that she was going to go to UCLA "next semester" before doing Tony and Brad in a motel room. Simone didn't give her a lengthy interview but the oral and straight sex seemed to have a bit of heat this time, something not apparent in the other scenes so far. She could make a career of porn if she chose but not as top of the line talent.

Scene Five: University of South Alabama: Amber, another moderately attractive blonde with some extra weight, took on Tommy and Burke on a bed. While I wouldn't kick her out of bed, her skills were not all that well suited to porn and I see a bright future for her in fast food if she's not much smarter than she appeared during her interview. The sex was oral and straight with little heat and no chemistry so unless you like seeing a train wreck, pass it up.

Summary: I can't honestly rate this as anything other than Skip It due to the weak cast, lame sex, and failed premise (how many of the gals were actually still in school, given their expired ID cards or high school ID cards?). The series has done much better and maybe a search for a good hostess will help revive it in the future but the number one thing would be to get gals that don't act like professional sex workers, the number two thing to improve the technical aspects, and the final thing to provide more fuck for the buck. Sorry but even Hustler fails some time and this was it.
